Got Farcry 5 last week, gotta admit it is pretty awesome. I've had a lot of WOW moments in the game, just based on action sequences and stuff you can do. Not to mention exploring and finding cool backstory stuff. After watching Wild Wild Country on Netflix, Farcry 5 is like the Rajneesh's become militant, and you're one badass sent in to the valley to deliver justice.
I just got No Man's Sky for under $10 from a used record shop, even with all of the negativity it received, that seems like a fair price even if it's just okay.
Picked BOTW back up after a few months of not playing it that much, and this game continues to blow me away. Seriously one of my favorite games of this decade.
Also, I started playing GTA San Andreas again... god, this game is STILL so much fun!
NMS is a much, much better game now. I sold my original copy and just re bought it a few weeks ago.
I don't want to buy God of War, but the way critics are fawning over it, I may have to find it in the budget.
It might very well be the thing that gets me to buy a PS4
I don't know that I own a single PS4 exclusive, come to think of it. This could be a good first. Never played the GoW games before, but the reviews are gushing.

Gamespot says the new GoW "learned a lot from Last of Us," which gets my attention.
Discussion topic: physical games vs. digital games
I know digital games are more convenient, easier to transfer across different platforms at times, and might be safer (if your game gets stolen, etc.). Physical games can be resold.
Which do you prefer? I have always bought physical but was thinking about starting to move towards digital.
I'm old so I like physical even though I rarely ever sell them off. I do like how convenient and well presented Xbox's backwards compatible titles are when browsing my library and have been considering purchasing them digitally if they put them on a huge sale so I won't have to use the discs anymore. Xbox One is similar in its presentation but due to the install size on those I don't typically have them all loaded on whereas the BC ones I can see all ~35 titles at a glance. Now if only they would file the Elder Scrolls games Under 'E' instead of 'M'orrowind & 'O'blivion and worse yet put Psychonauts in 'P' as opposed to 'F'ull Game Psychonauts. That drives me crazy!
I still prefer physical copies of games. I also prefer printed copies of books instead of using an e-reader. I cant give any rational why I do it except Im old

I don't have a major preference one way or another. I bought Destiny on PS3 digital because I got the PS4 version for free if I did that. I got D2 on digital for some reason that I don't really remember, probably convenience. I have a handful of smaller indie titles like Journey and Rocket League on digital because they're easy to impulse buy or download via PS+ free games, which is how I got Rocket League.
Would be super cool to be able to rent digital copies that self-delete when they expire. That way I don't spend an hour of my night getting ripped off by Redbox. I'm still scared to try to rent GoW because I think eventually they're going to try to blame me if it happens again.
I have hard copies for most games, though I guess generally hard copies are nice cuz I can let friends borrow them if I want. I don't usually re-sell games. I'm too much of a hoarder.
Overall, I prefer physical. However, when it comes to certain games (mostly older RPGs), trying to get a physical copy can be a headache, not to mention often pricey. Only times I really get digital copies of newer games is when there's a sale where it's foolish not to buy it over the physical copy. But most often that isn't the case. I do think that I may have a different approach if I mainly used PC or handhelds, and I do think I'll end up buying more digital copies of games for the Switch, specifically. Just to keep from carrying around multiple game cards if I'm wanting to play on the go, but those things are so small and if you have a carrying case it isn't an issue anyway.
Anyway, I picked up Nioh for $20 from Best Buy last week and have been playing it a decent bit. Soulsborne fans should dig it, it has enough to differentiate it, but it's nowhere in the league of a Bloodborne, for example. For one, it's even more vague than any of the other Souls games and the menus are absolute hell. Also, the camera is kind of shitty, especially if you're going up or down a spiral staircase. But, the combat is tight and the difficulty is notable even in comparison to the games it's aping. It also has a slight sense of humor, so that's a welcome change.

Picked up No Man's Sky on PS4 because it was on sale for $15 at Walmart. I also read it's improved since it was first released and they'll be adding some actual multiplayer stuff this summer.
Played a bit yesterday and today and I'm digging it. Still going through the early stuff and jumping around but fun so far. Been killed by space pirates once and can't grab my stuff from the grave yet.
Have you played Fortnite? It's basically just a better version of pubg...and it's free
I have, and I just didn't get into the way I did pubg. I think its the slightly more realistic graphics on pubg that do it for me, though thats laughable.
