I'm enjoying Hogwarts Legacy. It's extremely faithful to the detail in the books about the Castle, and the combat is super intuitive. Glad I picked it up.

Can't wait! Target delayed my Metroid Prime ship date to early March—all physical copies are sold out everywhere—so now I have more time to play this one

I've also really enjoyed it so far. Only a couple hours in so far but it's very immersive.

Got a PS4 for the first time. Only PlayStation other than PSP in my life.
For someone who has gamed very little in life what are some of the best games available for PS4 all-time? Even if its a super obvious answer I probably still haven't played it.
Maybe to keep it simple just name one game that is 100% a must play in your opinion

Batman Arkham Asylum jumps out. If you like the IP at all you'll dig it, but even as someone who's not a huge comic book/movie nerd it's just a great game.

Depends some on what kind of games you like. If you want to hit the standards, I would lean towards RDR 2, GTA 5, Uncharted, Last of Us, God of War.

I've been thinking I would like RDR. Is there anything wrong with playing RDR 2 if I have no familiarity with the first one?

gonna go ahead and list: Bloodborne Personal 5 Royal Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne remaster Infamous Second Sun MGS V Final Fantasy 7 remake Red Dead Redemption 2 Elden Ring
idk if you had an xbox instead or not so some of those are non exclusives
smt and persona are turn based rpgs so if you dont like those stay away. if you do, they are absolute must plays and the best of their genre arguably

Uncharted Horizon: Zero Dawn The Last of Us Skyrim RDR and RDR2 (Order doesn't matter, RDR2 is a prequel to RDR1) Fallout 4
The above games have taken literally thousands of hours of my life.

I did that and I was ok. I do think it would add something but it's a different main character I believe and I think overall the stories are pretty self-contained.

if you want ONE rock solid, absolute must play, get your feet wet, haven't done much video gaming and want to see what all the hubbub is about, I'd go for Uncharted 4. I never played the first three but still understood the story just fine. It's about 12 hours long so it's not a huge commitment, there's no overly complicated systems to manage, it's just front to back gaming spectacle. Go ahead and put the difficulty on story mode until you get the hang of the controls and all that good stuff. It can be found for dirt cheap too

RDR also isn't available for PS4; it's stuck on the PS3 and Xbox 360. RDR 2 is an incredible game, and you honestly wouldn't need many other games for months after that one.

I got back into gaming during the pandemic after being a hardcore gamer until my mid-20s and I've been rating every game played since I got back into gaming. These are all the games on the PS4 I'd personally give a 10/10.
God of War: Ragnarök (not necessary to play GoW 2018 before this since the game gives a recap but I'd still highly recommend) Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Nier: Automata Outer Wilds (+ Echoes of the Eye DLC) Shadow of the Colossus remake The Last of Us Part II (Part I remake is probably here too, just haven't played it yet)
If I had to go with one game though, I'd recommend Shadow of the Colossus as that's my favorite game of all time.

Hades is a great one you can pick up and put down pretty easily because runs are generally like half an hour max. And you can play it in time for the sequel which will probably still be awhile, like maybe next year.

idk if you played the first last of us at all but the sequel shits all over the plot of the first one. to the point where it put me off from finishing it lol

The second one gets really good. I'm close to the end now after falling off it a while ago.

Oh I played it when it first came out and loved it, just haven’t played the remake that came out recently yet. To me, Part II is better than the first game, both gameplay and story-wise.
maybe i’m alone on this board w that opinion and i love what it did for lesbian representation and fleshing out Ellie but i am just not a fan of the way it subverts expectations. Feels like Neil Druckman wanted to do something similar to MGS2 but imo it was executed far worse. i’ll give it a chance someday as i got about half way through but yea just my opinion
