anyone else having trouble with the live stream? I've tried it on 3 different browsers at both iclips and spin.com.... got the audio to work for awhile during Brandi Carlile but then when i tried to figure out how to get the video it stopped working completely. I'd love to catch the Umphrey's set in half an hour
Now I've got it working on google chrome but its not Umphreys.... anyone else watching this?
Is anyone dipping Sunday that can help me see Paul Simon? Send me a message PLEASE. He is the number one on my list, I'd love to go to the whole thing but can't afford the prices. Thought there may be an inforooster that needs to get home early or something.

Good shows friday. Dont think the venue was prepared for 35k people tho. Fuck standing in line for hours waiting on a shuttle. We walked it 8 miles back to our condo. Hoping today is a little less hectic. Anyone actually make it to the Florabama last night?
Beautiful venue.....my morning jacket and ump killed it friday. I feel like they oversold this event though. It was pretty packed..........also not the usual festie crowd. Met some cool people but I heard a ton of people complaining about people walking through the crowd and things of that nature(its irritating but something you come to expect going to festivals so deal with it). Also have already found glass bottles broken on the beach and people have just trashed the beach with beer cans.....kind of a drag to see. But we will see how day 2 goes.....bout to head in and catch Medeski Martin Wood>Slightly Stoopid>Primus>Flaming Lips.
well me and the lady were soundboard high, smoking in the middle of 35k half way thru panic. three undercover grabbed us handed us off to sheriffs on carts and drove us to the mobile police dept there into a van. drove us an hour north, into holing cell till 8:30 am like sardines. all night and the next day they were bused in. bonded out w 1000 each for 2 js at 5pm.
all kinds of crazies stories in there. setups on cid and mol. 4 people arrested for one bowl. just nothing like anything i have ever seen at a fest. Shhhhhadddy scene there.
reminded me off roadblocks at deercreek p lakes.
great fest though. who knew alabama zero tolerance. check out their mj laws lol.
There is a heavy police presence. I have the kids so there is nothing for me to get in trouble for though. They really need to start turning the sound up to 11 though.
i call it a great fest still cause im trying to be a little positive. the fest has been really fun, if you only a drinker
i guess if i really think about it i'm not suprised. you can tell renters and businesses love all the people down here for their money and economy. BUT the police, vacationers and just plain ol hippie hating rednecks HATE this fest.
should have brought my pocket vape. too bad i won't be back, i was really looking forward to coming here every year. nice condo, beach etc. Hey i can accept it, my lifestyle is not accepted here.this is not cali, col, or even ohio. but that is THEIR choice and i can accept that. but my choice is to never come back. except when we have to fly back for court, that they gonna piss test me at by bonds lady said. she said just detox stuff lol. we probably fly from ohio to florida friends house and drive to court whithout ever dropping a dime anywhere till we hurry back across state lines.
but today is the day i really have been looking forward to. gonna rage hard, just low key on certain stuff. take fun stuff before we leave.

Wow. That's a horrible story. If more like that surface, it pretty much guarantees I won't be hitting up Hangout anytime in the future. You should have gotten a citation on the spot, nothing more. Hope today goes much better for you.
One major plus to Bonnaroo. Once you make it on the farm, you generally don't have trouble with undercover police. Sucks to hear your story, highoman, hope you enjoy the last day of the fest!
I hate that I had to miss it this year and hope next year is even better! But life has a way of changing the best laid plans...and I was where I needed and wanted to be this weekend. But still....both my BFF and I were thinking of Hangout and missing it while making plans to make up for it next year!
Sadly, I have had to cancel my trip to Hangout due to family health issues.
Boo!
I know...but some things are more important than even great music festies! Like best friends! And I will see you @ Roo which I can not WAIT! Also, y'all have room for another in Camp Inforoo VIP! Cause the chica I am splitting my VIP with would be awesome to camp with! And she doesn't know anyone...so I figured you could help! ;D
Keller with a great set and a "Crazy" medley, doing the Seal, Cee Lo, Fine Young Cannibals, and Patsy Cline songs.
Warren with Panic
Paul Simon on the beach
Negatives
The Shuttle situation was out of control the first two nights, also at one point some asshat told me that if I did not go back to the end of the line with my kids (already waited an hour) he was going to take our shuttle pass bracelets from us.
The first two days there was no search on Sunday they found some unemployed concentration camp guards, and they went to town. Apparently me and the children had been bringing in contraband the first two days. However a little fast talking and we were able to keep our sunscreen and umbrella.
All in all it was a fun festival, very family friendly, not really a rager or anything but a lot of fun.
caught some good shows (Justin Townes Earle was probably my favorite of the weekend), but doubt I'll ever be back at hangout. It was too crowded for the size of the venue. There were cops roaming around inside the festival. I saw people getting arrested for just smoking. Day 2 when i entered there were cops inside near the entrance with dogs. By day 3 there was a cop just standing at the end of the entrance and i got a pat down (first time all weekend). It is a beautiful venue and a cool idea, but it just wasn't what i was hoping for or anything that i will support in the future.

Wow, just wow. I went last year and it was the best fest that I had ever been to. I wanted to go again this year but funds would not allow it. Once I saw that it had sold out, I was glad that I wasn't going. Last year was perfect with 15k. I knew that place could not handle 35k.
I am surprised at the police presence. I never saw a single uniformed officer inside the gates last year. They didn't search my person at all, only my camelbak. Lines were non existant. Sounds like the fest got too big for itself?
I am anxiously waiting for more reviews. My friends went but haven't made it back yet. (12 hour drive) Hopefully, they're not in a holding cell somewhere.

Great festival but I agree with many of you that it was too crowded. I don't think we'll attend this one again especially if it's sold out. It was also a drag to see all of the trash left on the beach. The Foo Fighters were awesome! The tent or boom boom room was terrible. not big enough. sound was off. I was only in it for Bassnectar and Old Crow but the sound was not loud enough. I know it's only in it's 2nd year but they really need to work some things out before we go back again. I know I'm sounding random but I'm tired. Oh and tons of undercovers. the first day we just watched them piling out of cruisers.

Aside from being/waiting at actual shows and meeting a few cool people, I had more fun at the campgrounds at the Gulf State Park. They get five stars from me for that clean, super air conditioned bathhouse.
The hangout security was just way too much. I didn't even have anything, but I got thoroughly (just short of a cavity search) searched each time I came into the venue.
Definitely need more water stations.
It just had a different crowd. And they TRASHED the beach. I'm taking my cigarette butts to the trash can and these people can't even pick up their cans? Ridiculous.
That misty hammock area behind the sky bar was an awesome place to take a shaded power nap, something I know the campers enjoyed.
I'm on the fence as to whether I'll go next year or not. This was an exhausting and frustrating weekend that may get better with time.
Last year = amazing fest with clean beaches, respectful people, you could wander up to the front of any show, few lines, no obvious police presence or terror tactics.
This year = broken glass and trash? Huge lines? Nazi cops? No thanks.
I was sad I couldn't go this year, now I'm glad I didn't. I seriously doubt I will go again, if these stories are reinforced with more horrors. Not worth it.
