Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Trey and TAB played Hangout last year and yes...the promoters and other PR/behind the scenes types that have helped get Hangout up and going and been "mentoring" it have some ties to Trey and Phish....so no it's not just wishful thinking.....Hangout is totally the right vibe and has the right people associated with it to attract acts both of that caliber and in that genre....remember Black Crowes also headlined last year.
I think Hangout is going to turn into a cross between the East Coast Coachella/Bonnaroo...but it will take a few more years. But not many...they are on a fast track for sure!
I really like the diverse lineup that the promoters secured last year and think it will be even better this year now that they have proven to the music industry that they can pull it off (aside from the severe weather that blows up on the coast every other afternoon.) I just thought that having Trey as the top headliner last year would preclude them from getting Phish this year. I think you are right bamabelle that they are trying to create a Bonnaroo on the Beach with eye popping headliners and a solid diverse musical undercard. I just really hope the locals don't freak out by all the vegabounds that come in and kill it by overpolicing it.
I kind of assumed MMJ was going to be at Bonnaroo this year. With them already at Wakarusa, it just seems like overexposure to be at Hangout too. Maybe so?? The rumor mills seems to haven't gotten out of control in regards to Hangout in the last 24 hours.

Yeah, but it's understandably out of control, I think. The lineup anticipation had everyone a little bit antsy.
And honestly I'm mostly hearing the same names over and over again. The only new rumors (for me) are Tom Petty and My Morning Jacket. I'm not taking either too seriously, even though I'd like to
Don't forget the Stevie Wonder rumor which makes sense because of John Legend last year. Also, rumblings of Dave Matthews. At this point, I don't know who the headliner will be. I'm really curious who they will have on the undercard as well. I'm hoping for some quality indie and electronic acts besides just the Umphrey's jam type acts.

YES! And I also heard that Stevie Wonder rumor...I really don't have ANY faith in this one. I know you said John Legend, but there's a big price difference there.
If its Phish then I'm fine with waiting, if they were just pissed that Summercamp was going to say they have Panic the same day that Hangout was then I'll be pissed.
My Morning Jacket is also popping up all over the place re: Hangout Rumors. Where is everyone getting this? I'd be one happy lady, for sure!
Heard something about an MMJ show announcement coming yesterday, but then it didn't. Only now reading about the Hangout announcement getting delayed too. Unless there was another announcement planned yesterday that got delayed too, I guess it's a pretty safe bet they'll be playing.

I am way too preoccupied with this. Here is everyone I can find that has had an artist page on the site at one point or another. Almost all of them have been taken down (first three are still viewable), but you can still find the cached pages with a Google search.
The Raconteurs Cold War Kids Janelle Monae Radiohead Arcade Fire Big Boi Daft Punk Yeah Yeah Yeahs Foo Fighters Miami Horror The Flaming Lips Metric Yo Yo Ma Phish U2 Beach House Elbow Thievery Corporation Muse Led Zeppelin
Obviously that last one raises a red flag. I seriously doubt that the Hangout would have the funds to get that reunion together, and I doubt the band would pick the Hangout to be their North American reunion debut. If that was going to happen, it would be Bonnaroo or Coachella.
Also, there are just too many headliners. It comes down to money again. U2, Phish, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Muse and Daft Punk are all big enough to headline any festival in the US. How can they afford 7 headlining bands?
I wish this was more believable, but it was probably just a test.

Interesting. Where did you hear about that?
From someone connected to WFPK (Radio Louisville). He didn't know (or maybe just wouldn't tell) what the announcement was exactly, but it would make sense it's about Hangout.
I don't know if this has any connection, but here in Jacksonville we have the St. Augustine Amphitheater close by, they have been teasing an announcement all week as well, and said it would be out by the end of the week. People are getting hostile on their facebook page as well. I'm thinking it might just be the same band that is holding up the both of them. My Morning Jacket played there last year....who knows here's hoping.
edit: it's funny I just went back to check their facebook and the crazy thing is it's almost the same wording as Hangout "We've got a BIG announcement"

Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights will be there per Pollstar.com
I saw them a couple years ago and they are very good. A refreshingly good ole fashion southern rock/blues band. They are touring with Grace Potter right now, ought to check em out. Anybody in the Mobile area, they are playing Soul Kitchen in early March, its a mid week show so i am having to go catch them in Atlanta.
