^ Big-ass vodka-pomagranite for you! So, is anyone else going in Fri/Sat?? Where are you folks staying? We're in a super-crappy Super 8 by Graceland, but it's $60 a nite with free breakfast & a shuttle to the fest. We hope to cram 6 people in a room with one queen, at least until we are caught. Good times ahead. And the weather looks better & better!
Druid and I are just coming in for the day on Sunday.

I have two Sunday only tickets if you are interested....or know anyone else who is.
The only question in my mind is, should I go and beatup / roll a hipster for a ticket to arcade fire tomorrow night at the orpheum?
YES, especially if you have not seen them live before.
This whole situation burns my ass so bad, its beyond words. I am gonna try to pretend that they aren't gonna be in Memphis tomorrow.

F*cking CrowdSurge... I score 7th row tickets, but you f*cking c*ck nozzles declined my (perfectly working) f*cking credit card, not once, but 5 f*cking times... And worst of all, my repeated attempts to secure awesome f*cking tickets to a surely awesome f*cking concert resulted in my f*cking credit card getting "Hot Carded"... So, not only did I f*cking not get tickets, the f*cking c*ck stain at Arby's stared at me like I was a hobo when my f*cking credit card was declined, and I had to pay for my chicken f*cking cordon bleu sandwich with loose change from my f*cking cupholder.

So, what does this mean? Will the river rise two feet in two days? Should I still come in on Sat? And this is to jhammett, but they had Orchestra level A seats available on ticketmaster today for the Arcade Fire show if you searched for singles. I believe that is close to front row. I already have a single, but I'd love to meet up with somebody if ya'll are going to the AF show and Beale Street on Friday since my buddy bailed per usual.

Wow, I had searched a few weeks ago, and only found balcony seats, which suck. I searched immediately after reading this, and found an Orchestra C ticket on the isle on the 12th row.
So I am going to Arcade Fire tomorrow night... yay, except now Im much closer to broke.
In short, I will be sending a few Fridays your way over the next couple days. This warrants more than one awesome point.
I had someone message me from Memphis that the river wouldn't crest until the following weekend, which means we should be good! I am now relieved and can re-pack my dancing shoes. See ya there!

I had two friends cancel going and ask me to sell their 3 day passes if anyone is interested. Their area was hit pretty hard last night and they are staying back to help with cleanup.
perhaps we should exchange numbers, that way we and txt back and forth (if someone can't make it, how many are coming, etc). I am gonna PROBABLY try to get downtown early sunday, so I can get a table.

Druid and I decided against driving 3+ hours in pouring rain and storms and then having the chance of the shows being cancelled if it thunderstorms (which it is supposed to do).
Everyone that played the horseshoe stage Friday was great.... Especially MGMT and FLips. Arcade Fire the day before was fabulous as well. I thought the fest was set up nicely and relatively organized.
What a wild weekend. I'm still wiped out two days later. The weather held up ok. Food was amazing all over town. Great sets from Cake, Lucero, Lotus... of course MGMT getting up with FLips was amazing. Wayne looked wild-eyed and was hysterical between songs. Their set seemed a bit more spontaneous & sloppy which was a nice change. Avett's into Wilco on Sun eve was the perfect close for me, even though Wilco's sound was as sketchy as the weather looked earlier. Can't believe they played the Cheap Trick song from "That 70's Show"... "In the Street"! Paying tribute to another great Chicago band. Best $70 I ever spent. Ready for next year's Memphis in Mud.
Indeed, it was an excellent fest. The weather held, a little mud just made it feel legit. Avett's kicked major butt and Wilco killed it to close out the fest. Flips were excellent. You could tell that Wayne's voice was messed up, but he still gave everyone the best performance he could. Wasn't too impressed with MGMT, but that was mostly a sound issue, couldn't hear the vocals! New Pornographers were a lot of fun. It was weird to see all the "cool kids" get into Mumford, but nice. About lost my mind Saturday night walking through the glitter laden crowd and hearing the name Ke$ha every 2 seconds. Silly Ke-dollar-sign-ha fans got glitter all over the Kooky Canuk's ladies room. All in all, a great time and I'd come back if the lineup called to me like this one. I need more Wilco my life. I've missed them.
