Right but don't forget that the Walk don't run isn't in the clue whatsoever. so had GC not said anything, we wouldn't be talking about pool's, walking or anything. We can't treat the "walk don't run" like it's a separate clue. You gotta tie it back to the original clue at some point.
agreed, but St. Cecilia is a variety of English rose. It's colour or dress is apricot. Electric Apricot.
Sheer still get's you less=Les
So I guess it's a little stretch, but it works.
It works but that doesn't mean it's right. I can feel my mind turn to porridge after working on these clues.
Okay, I just found something thats pretty interesting...Blue Oyster Cult has an album called St. Cecilia: The Elektra Recordings. Working on finding something to connect it to someone, but it's just something that I don't think has been mentioned yet.

I think the Walk, Don't Run thing could be pointing out that it's either Florence & the Machine or Not Florence:::
Her hit song right now is all about running. So by him saying Walk, Don't Run he could pointing out that it's not them. Or it's a clue in saying that it is Flo.

so what you're saying is.....it either is or isn't Florence and the Machine. good to know

It's all in the interpretation. But I just watched her "Dog Days are Over" video and she's wearing a sheer dress!!! And she's wearing gold. (St. Cecilia was known for wearing gold... and the statue above her coffin has her laying down with what looks like a sheer dress)
If we limit dress code to either formal or casual, Here We Go Magic has a pretty disturbing video for their song, "Casual." We witness the birth of a fully grown man, who is of course sheer naked. Don't know how to fit "Cecilia" into it.

I was making a joke. Of course the answer to this clue will either be

^Well, scratch that! As coreyday pointed out, he did indeed respond, all but confirming the scissors are on the right track...Adding fuel to the Cut Copy/Scissor Sisters fire. I really think it's one of the two.

I hope its Cut Copy.
Its worth noting that the tour dates they just announced didn't feature anything in the south other than a performance at Ultra and a show in Atlanta, both in March, so they are a strong possibility regardless of the clue.

I'll try to get this stuff organized on the website asap, but for now...
What guesses do we have that relate to scissors? He didn't 100% confirm the scissors thing but it sounds likely. We've got... Cut Copy (sheer > shears > cut, Cecilia > CC, and maybe dress code > copy (somehow?)) Scissor Sisters (sheer > shear(s) > scissors...)
But what else is there? I'm sure there's more, what are the possibilities?

I'm actually okay with "dress code" not really being used, I think - I think Cut Copy is still possible even though I don't see how "dress code" yields "copy" either. It could just be a case of that being the easiest way to connect "Cecilia" with "sheer" in order to form a sentence fragment from the words.

I said it before, and it still makes sense to me.
Simon & Garfunkel "Cecelia" - sheer can mean 'uncovered' meaning them there playing it, not someone else (considering how many bands that have been to roo and covered that song, Local Natives, etc.)... Also...Garfunkel had a 1981 album called 'Scissors Cut' that was a failure, so he at that point reunited with Simon to tour, as a result of 'Scissor Cut' failing.

Come to think of it, the name of the band, "Cut Copy," sounds like it could refer to sheets of material for clothing. Maybe a bit of a stretch, but it's something else that loosely ties them to the clue.

from St. Cecilia of Rome wiki page:
The Sisters
