Not sure if it will help you guys with anything, but there is an early Flips album called "In a Priest Driven Ambulance." An ambulance is something you're more likely to call than a priest.
I don't think the Flips will be there next year, just another possible lead.
The other thing I was thinking was along the same lines. The lights from the first part of the clue and what does a guru do but provide guidance. I'm not sure where to go from guiding light, though.
Lighthouse? North star? Polaris? Constellations? Beacon?
The Strokes, who FINALLY announced their album coming out Priest = Richard Priest, their tour manager (right?) Guru = J.P. Bowersock, who is listed as the "guru" for the band in the Is This It? album booklet alongside his picture, and was on tour with Julian Casablancas during his solo shows

This is what I was thinking, too! Plus, they fit with the insomnia part of the clue w/ their song, "Fear of Sleep". Fits with "still up". And they definitely have an album coming out in a month or two.
The thing I like about Pretty Lights, is the first part of the clue works really well. And so does the Guru part, but where are we tying in the Priest? Is it because of Christmas?

That song is pretty dead on. So it's hard to go against that, but the first part i don't like. When it says " A month. Maybe Two" I'm thinkign it is referring to how long it's been UP. That zoltar thing has been up for like 7-8 months. Where as Christmas was just a month ago, and if you put up your lights super early (right after thanksgiving). They would be up two months.

There is a website called celebguru.com that has an article from April about how Gene Simmons thinks their band are more known than Mickey Mouse.

The only thing that would need a bit more research is the guru/priest and how it pertains to them... but it's a possibility that I would like to just throw out there.
DJ Premier is releasing Beats That Collected Dust Vol. 2 tomorrow, or today depending on where you are, Beats from his vault.. It has a song on it called LATE NIGHT which could refer to being still up.. Dj Premier worked the GURU as part of Gang Starr, Just a thought.. He also released a collaboration album in December, a month ago.. Just thoughts.. I would love it if it turned out to be Dave Attel though.. He is the man!

Dr. Dre? According to the Wiki page for Detox, it was finalized in December and is supposed to be released in Feb, 1-2 months later. As to the guru part, he has been a mentor to Eminem and other rappers including Bishop Lamont who is supposedly going to featured alot on Detox.

I grab on to this as much as the Pretty Lights and here is why...
If you were up for 1 or 2 months, (up=synonymous with high) then you would definately need to "Detox" and who better to call than the guru, the Dr. "who's the doctor they told you to go see
