How big of a hassle would it be to stay in Brooklyn? I want to snatch up a few day passes while they're still around but the only place i can stay cheaply is crashing at my cousin's place in Brooklyn (she's a prof at NYU not a hipster!!!). I don't want to to get tickets w/o a place to stay that is convenient.
I think you'll be ok. Trains run late but might leave you stranded for an hour but nothing not dealable with.
I haven't posted in this thread before. Really excited for ATP NJ, particularly with the great most recent additions.
We have three-day passes that include admission to the Friday night Jeff Mangum show. Does anyone know how seating will work for that show? Will it be general admission? If anyone knows, please let me know.
They just put 3 day "Portishead" passes on sale. They mentioned something about premium access to the Portishead shows plus access to all three days, but no Jeff Magnum. These passes are $260 plus fees, which is exactly the same as buying all three day passes seperate. Sounds pretty stupid, they should at least do a deal for the three day pass. I think I'll just end up buying a Friday pass and a Sunday pass. It's pretty cool that this is only about 20 minutes from my house... NJ never has any good fests like this.
Today we can also confirm more of the amazing line-up for Friday and Saturday...
Friday September 30 - We can confirm the long awaited and very exciting live return of cult indie rock group THINKING FELLERS UNION LOCAL 282. We can add the sensational and much talked about London based trio FACTORY FLOOR who will be making their first U.S. live trip, and also the renowned musical archeologists AWESOME TAPES FROM AFRICA DJs. As promised for the fourth year running we will bring a comedy stage to the Friday of the event - this year featuring REGGIE WATTS, HANNIBAL BURESS and RORY SCOVEL. They join the previously announced bill of Jeff Mangum (performing for Three Day Jeff Mangum Friday Passholders only), Bonnie Prince Billy, Shellac, Chavez, A Hawk And A Hacksaw, The Album Leaf and Cults.
Saturday October 1 - Headlined by Portishead, we can confirm the addition of the legendary MARC RIBOT who will bring his group CERAMIC DOG to Asbury Park. Marc Ribot is of course well known for his incredible work with Tom Waits, Laurie Anderson, John Zorn and many many more. We're also very excited to present COLIN STETSON - one of the most stunning live performers around and whose recent LP is receiving much deserved acclaim. They join the previously confirmed Ultramagnetic MC's, Battles, Swans, The Horrors, The Pop Group, Oneida presents The Ocropolis III, Silver Qluster, Beak>, Foot Village and DJ Peanut Butter Wolf.
Sunday October 2 - Also headlined by Portishead and so far features Mogwai, Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra, Earth, Deerhoof, J.G. Thirlwell's Manorexia, People Of The North, Anika, DD/MM/YYYY and DJ Shepard Fairey with more to be confirmed. As stated above Jeff Mangum will now play a second show on this night for the new Three Day Jeff Mangum Sunday Passholders only.
Today we are also very pleased to announce that in conjunction with The Jonathan Levine Gallery, renowned artist SHEPARD FAIREY (who has created the art for this event and will also DJ) will be presenting an exhibition of his art over the weekend entitled Revolutions: The Album Cover Art of Shepard Fairey. More details of the exhibition will be confirmed soon.
