Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Doubtful that you'd wait 12 hours in line, but yeah if you come in Wednesday night, most likely the 007 BFE camps is where you'll be camped at.
But I'm feelin' some 'Roo vibes tonight, so I'll indulge myself in a longer post. The people I've met (even if only briefly) Wednesday night/Thursday mornin' in these campsites have just been amazin'. Exemptin' one group who was kinda sketchy, but not total assholes. My goal is actually to get in Wednesday fer a third year in a row (fifth 'Roo in a row). I just love the atmosphere that everyone there has! So excited fer Bonnaroo that we all got there early.
thats the way im looking at it, getting there wens night just means a whole other night of meeting tons of new people and having a good time. so from what i gather the only negative is the walk? is there anything else? i did read one person say cause its so far from the grilled cheese, thats hilarious

Sulfur water is the only other drawback, but in reality you will get most of your drinking water in centeroo, in addition to what you brought with. But some have a hard time washing up and brushing teeth with rotten egg water.
First time Roo. When do they start allowing people in/assigning camp sites? is POD 1 a prefered site? if we get there around 530-6am what are the chances we'll get to camp there?

I believe pods are the same every year.
There are advantages and disadvantages to getting there early as opposed to when the majority of the crowd arrives. There are plenty of threads around with discussion on when best to arrive and similar topics. There is no definitive answer, it all depends on personal preferences.

The walk can get long by the end of the weekend, but that also probably depends on what kind of shape you're in. Fer me by Saturday night I feel pretty tired when I get back to camp. It is far from the fabled $1 garlic grilled cheeses. And yes, at least the water in POD 1 the past two years has tasted badly of sulfur.

They unofficially open the gates Wednesday early evenin' dependin' on the amount of people already showin' up. Is POD 1 preferred? By some, but not by others, likeapproo515 said there are advantages and disadvantages. If you arrive at 5:30-6am Thursday mornin' you could end up in POD 1, but you could end up elsewhere too I think.

We're planning on leaving Dallas around 3 pm Wednesday and if we drive straight there that would put us in Manchester around 2 am...any idea on if the unofficial open gets will still be open?
Has anyone ever had a problem getting in Wednesday night and being put in BFE? I was wondering how early they usually open on Wednesday...before it gets dark out?

so i get that Pod 1 is filled with all the early goers and some don't like that. But I would surely prefer to be in Pod 1 than Pod 9. To me, that really is BFE.
SO, does anyone have an idear what arrival time at the gates usually get you stuck at Pod 9?
And I'm beginning to think that if you want to be only 5-10 minutes from centeroo, you'll have to pay the price of waiting hours in line Thursday morning/afternoon. Should I probably go with this theory?

Yes and No. If you go in Wednesday night then you will be in BFE. It gets a little trickier when you try to narrow down a time for getting close to Centeroo. There really is no sure fire way to guarantee you will be close, as parking is pretty random. We got in line around 4am this past year, we were probably parked by 930am and were 5 minutes from Centeroo. Part of it probably depends on which entrance you use as well, but depending on where you are coming from and the time you get there, you won't have much say in that regard.

Thanks.
I'll be heading northbound on I-24. As long as I don't get redirected to the back entrance of bushy branch rd, because in other posts it seems you usually get stuck in the back corner by that way, I'll be happy.
After reading everyone's post on BFE Pod 1 I'm thinking I'll give it a try. The extra down time and chance to meet so many people is sounding better and better.
i got stuck by pod 9 last year, to the right of that little pond/lake, whatever you want to call it. and i think that was way farther than BFE. the walk was a killer. we also waited in line from 7am till 4pm. after driving straight through from buffalo, ny lol that was a long 24 hours. im def planning on getting into manchester wednesday night and camping in BFE, it sounds like a lot of fun!
007 Camps rule! Since it looks like right now I won't be startin' school until August-ish, I've already requested the days off of work necessary to get to 'Roo in time again this year fer BFE.
I'm hopeful my ride will want to get there Weds night, looking forward to BFE camping, and avoiding the hours long wait on Thursday morning. You can always take a cab to avoid the long walk right?

I was gonna do phish jun.8 then leave after that show(ny) and head for roo.. but once I actually sat down and weighed the pros and cons, mainly cons. It wasn't worth it. It would bring me into Tenn and what i imagine Is its busiest time(noon) and out me at a long wait, but giving us a closer spot.. so to get to the point. My first day would've been wasted, I would've been tired as hell and I probably would miss sphongle, and we can't have that..so I sold my tic and back on track for arriving on wens night for bfe camping. Im pumped
