I'm completely down if they only play stuff from Marshall Mathers LP, Slim Shady LP, and the 2 Chronics. The more other stuff thats thrown in, the less excited I am.
^meh... it's songs like that that make me begin to dislike him. Too cheesy
I like the fact that the song, without me, is about him coming back and causing controversy and now here Eminen is, been out the music for awhile, he's coming back and he's causing controversy. I do think Eminem is one of the best Rappers of all time. People have come along after him and can rhyme as fast, smooth, and clean(not as in topic, but crisp clean) as he can, but he was the first. His ability to flow, to tell a story, to make a joke, an insult, all while rhyming, is amazing! Like, "No I'm not the first king of controversy I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley to do black music so selfishly and used it to get myself wealthy"
and using Munchhausen syndrome? WTF?!
"...Now I would never diss my own mama just to get recognition, take a second to listen who you think this record is dissin', but put yourself in my position, just try to envision witnessin' your Mama poppin' prescription pills in the kitchen, bitchin' that someone's always goin' through her purse and shits missin', going through public housing systems, victim of Munchausen's syndrome..."
Brilliant!
Scrog cheats he brings Burning Man Tech to the Farm but when I get off of here I will still give him a Coco

I would be happy to see Eminem or Eminem + Dre I wasn't a Jay-Z fan in particular - BUT he did have a great presence last year. I haven't seen Em in concert though... so I can not vouch for that..
Saw Eminem and Jay-Z at Yankee Stadium. Rumor was that Jay-Z was getting jealous because Em was getting much louder ovations, and rightfully so. The old Eminem was back on that stage at least, he absolutely killed it. If he and Dre split a performance I think it would be a ridiculous show.

where did you hear/read this "rumor"?
A friend of mine is in the stage-hand union and worked the second show (the one I also attended). He said the first show people were way more pumped for Em. Our show was a lot more even, but apparently Jay-Z wanted to change it so instead of a 50/50 set time split, it was more like 60/40 in his favor. To be fair, I think everyone was just a little more excited the Em was back in old form, whereas Jay-Z never left.
As I've said before, if he is not booked than Insider was wrong, which I highly doubt, because the Saturday night headliner would not be hip-hop. Reason is a very powerful tool, but to appease you, yes...we have no idea...unless you've used the tool I've alluded to before...and in that case, yeah, it's eminem.
Regardless of your musical preferences you can't say that was a bad performance.
I haven't listened to much Em over the years, but his ability can't be doubted. And if he repeats that performance effort, I could dig it.
Yes, I can. In my opinion, that performance was bad. In fact, I don't know how any adult could still like his misogynistic, homophobic, violent, angsty nonsense. It's understandable to like something like what he does when you're a confused adolescent, but it's just silly to like as an adult in my opinion.

You sound mad.
I'm not even a real fan of Em's, but his lyrical content has obviously changed. And what exactly about that performance was bad? I thought it had good energy. His delivery was solid, clear vocals, breathing wasn't out of whack. So what was it?

Nah, I'm not mad. I just strongly dislike Eminem. His lyrical content hasn't changed that much, his hit song with Rihanna is still more or less about spousal abuse (and not in a "positive message" kinda way).
I just think he relies to heavily on his faux-angriness. He's not seventeen years old, so that kind of angst without purpose is just kind of silly to me. I was not into the performance.

A large part of music is angry. Some not as aggressive as Eminem per se. But without angry music, however faux it is, there would be a lot of music we would have missed out on. And you could say he doesn't have reason for angst now, but it would be naive to say he didn't have reason earlier in his career. Most artists maintain the motivation for their song writing throughout their careers, regardless if its angry or not.

I like ya, approo, so I don't want to get into it, but I'm not a fan of Eminem's and I think he is an immature guy (and that it shows through on his lyrical content and delivery). That's just what I think of him.
