To those of you who don't shower because "you are ok with it" I implore you to consider the random people you might be standing next to at that sunny, Sunday afternoon show.
I've been three times, and I have never showered. However, I do take baby wipe baths and wash my feet each day.
If the person next to you is stinky, you should probably move. And stand next to another stinky person

I agree. This'll be my 5th roo and I've never showered there or at any festival. Washed my hair once my first year. Going VIP for the first time this year and I'm curious whether I will actually use the showers there. Even though I don't shower, I'm pretty sure I keep myself clean enough to not stink (too bad anyways lol).
I've been to 8 Roos and cannot not imagine NOT washing up; not really due to the smell, it's just the incredibly refreshed feeling I get after washing in the troughs. After sweating in the heat all day, I go back to camp around sundown (or whenever there's decent break in the bands), hike to the water station, wash up in the nice, cold water and grab a bite to eat. I'm then ready to stay up ALL night dancing to the late night groove.
To me the "shower" is one of the best parts of the day. It's like starting the day over, refreshed and ready to go. And the troughs have no or little waiting and are free.
But that's just me
That was exactly my reasoning for showering. I used the showers as a way to recharge. I usually showered mid day some time, I found that the showers were less crowded. The water was moderately warm, but after being out in the TN sun all the time, you will only want to use the cold water haha
Like I said, the showers are an awesome way to get yourself feeling refreshed and recharged to keep you going until sunrise
I use baby wipes for baths. Several times a day. I buy several gallon jugs of water to pour over me in the morning, helps me wake up. To make my hair look not so disgusting, I use dry shampoo. It's Tresemme brand, you just spray it all over, leave it for a min, then brush it out. I also use a bandana to cover part of my head to make it look less nasty.
I bring a 5 gallon bucket full of camping supplies. After I empty my bucket and camp is set up I fill the bucket with water and sit the pump in it for my shower. This is great for washing long hair. I leave the bucket full of water in the sun during the day to warm and shower before I crash for the night. I hate going to bed dirty.

Just because we don't shower, doesn't mean we don't freshen up with soap/water/baby wipes and wash our hair at the troughs And OMG we use deodarant to!
I'm curious to know if any of the girls who don't shower the whole weekend get yeast infections? Do not want!
I've never had that issue, but I use scent free baby wipes pretty much every time I use the porta potties and every morning before getting dressed. They do a pretty good job.

I've gone each year since 08 and haven't once paid for a shower. I dont wanna waste the time or money on the showers, but i manage to stay as clean as the environment allows. Baby wipes, hand sanitizer, soap, and a jug of agua work fine as my daily "shower". One of my favorite things from last year was seeing the enormous line for the showers on friday morning. I understand some people have to shower to feel clean, but cmon after less than a day?
However, last year while volunteering, my friend groundscored a portable shower jawn and we might bring that this year.

;D I'm glad someone answered this and didn't think I was being a bit crude. I have only ever had one and it was when I went to Six Flags in 110 heat - sweating, water rides, more sweating, halfway drying out and more water rides. Most miserable weekend of my life!! Do the baby wipes leave you feeling sticky after you use them?
What kind of baby wipes are you using. They usually clean things. Not make them sticky. I will have to say that if you are going to go the baby wipe route spend the extra 3 dollars and get the Pampers Sensitive. Nothing worse than rubbing cheap rough cloth on a sun burn. And with out a good SPF you will burn.

I've never used them - no kids and never changed any diapers or anything... weirdo, right? Nearly 30 years old and avoided baby wipes my entire life Thanks for the recommendation.
A large plastic cup and the troughs have always been my shower. I also wear a knee-length black cotton sundress, which makes washing up in public a little easier.
Last year my friend brought a hose and though everyone thought it was a communal hose, she was a big fan.
yeast actually survives best in warm moist places, irrespective of their cleanliness. So showering or not showering has no bearing on whether or not you get yeast. staying as dry as possible (i.e. powder) and "airing things out" whenever possible are key.
It's empty in the valley of your heart, the sun it rises slowly as you walk away from all the fears and faults you've left behind.
I need freedom now, and I need to know how to live my life as it's meant to be. I will hold on hope, and I won't let you choke on the noose around your neck. I'll find strength in pain and I will change my ways - I'll know my name as it's called again.

Nope no stickyness with baby wipes. You can get feminine wipes also, but I use the regular unscented baby wipes because they are wetter and they are cheaper.
At Bonnaroo, I find nothing more refreshing than heading to the troughs as soon as I wake up (when the sun wakes me, not when I am up and ready to move). I take a kid's toy bucket and in it is a wash cloth, a bar of soap, a bottle of shampoo/conditioner combo. One of those microfiber towels around my neck. I wear a cotton bra that could double as a bikini top and a sarong over my undies so it's easy access.
Get there, get a faucet near the entrance/exit of the water station, hang my towel on the fence. Hang head over trough, hold hair and shampoo and rinse as best as I can, sponge bathe rest of self. Wrap up hair into turban with towel, let rest of self air dry on trip back to camp. Stop at vendor to get heaping plate of eggs and hashbrowns and such and a lemonade and go back to eat, rest another couple of hours and feel refreshed.
Last two Roos, we went with someone who had a shower tent and solar shower and both Roos I never used it. Seemed like too much of a PITA.

The staying dry bit was my main concern after learning how hot it is in TN in June - between all the sweat and the random water spigots everyone recommends.

You better believe it baby! A paid shower in the morning and a another trough wash at night. I am not ashamed to admit that I like music AND boys and while the music may not care, boys like clean tit-tays.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
