Muse played ACL Fest last year, and lemme tell ya: I had chills. They were amazing. That entire festival is just fantastic: so clean, so hip (but not pretentious) and dare I say...mature? I didn't see one wook the whole time!
The festival is compact enough that you aren't worn out from miles of daily trekking from one venue to another...and the food? Om nom nom! Awesome BBQ, plus...stuff like semolina-crusted artichoke petals served w/a garlic aioli dipping sauce? Yeah. Slightly more upscale than $1 Grilled Cheese!
KatyMae, if I have enough vacation time, you can count me IN for this!!!
OHHHHHHH the food. The FOOOOOOD. Hols - can you say - "CHICKEN CONE???" Dude - this fest was so spectacular last year. seriously want to go this year, but moving it back a month into september was their first mistake IMO. It's going to be sweltering. SWELTERING. The park is great - Hols is right, you dont have to walk all over creation to get to and from shows, but there were a couple bottle-necking areas. It's CLEAN, and no wooks in sight. I really can't speak highly enough of the organization, parking and shuttling, and did i mention the food? the FOOOOOOOOD.
It's possible that i'll get a ticket (easy fest for me with family in ATX), but I think the more likely option this year is VOODOO. Cooler temps, and I can dress up. all weekend

mayo, you will think they are even more ridiculous for moving it when you hear why...they do it whenever UT's bi-weekend is on their football schedule. the weather was perfect this past year. and you are absolutely right, it will be so hot. let's just hope for no dust.

Well that is just silly. seriously? Now I don't feel bad about not going at all. ......not to mention that my family are A&M fans. So damn that UT! and their stupid horns! and hot septembers!

Crazy good lineup. Fleet Foxes billed 6th seems pretty nuts. Obviously they're huge with the average ACL-goer, but it's still surprising to see them ahead of some of those names.
If they were at Bonnaroo, where do you think they'd be billed?
Also, I'd like to commend Bonnaroo for being the only major American festival to not book Skrillex.

Friday: Kanye West vs. Coldplay Saturday: Stevie wonder vs. My Morning Jacket Sunday: Arcade fire closing.
Stevie and Arcade Fire should have been switched. My only main complaint. I will probably skip MMJ on this occasion. I missed Stevie at Glastonbury last year.
Um .... For me personally this is the best line up I have seen all year. Wow. This has potential to get me off my ass and go and stop talking about it.

What's the deal with Kanye being everywhere? That dude is a total joke. Arcade Fire was pretty meh@ jazzfest, way overhyped band. Cool, but hipster shit. Coldplay is weak. Stevie Wonder @ Roo last year was one of my favorite shows of the year, definitely worth skipping MMJ for
Stevie Wonder was the biggest disappointment last year for me. I felt the entire vibe of the set was off, and the crowd just didn't seem to be feeling it. Im sure lots of people had a good time, but from where I was standing, something was a little weird.

I wish I was going. I don't care if every act other than headliners only plays for an hour or less. I am suprised Skrillex is billed above Iron & Wine in Sam Beams' hometown

We are not going to the fest, but will definitely be heading into Austin for the weekend for any after shows. There are a few bands on the lineup that I REALLY want to see, but I'm pretty indifferent to most.
how much are the tickets? do people camp out? I'm at school and the only website i have access to is this one and wikipedia, so can somebody explain how this festival works!! Please

No camping. Lots of Austin douchebags...
You can buy a day pass for any day $90 and also a 3 day pass (which I think are sold out).
