MMJ and Arcade Fire played better sets at ACL than at bonnaroo IMO. Both ranking in my best shows of the year. ACL was fun and exhausting, the rain to start off the days made the hot muggy weather way more tolerable and better than sun alone. The daytime line-ups kind of sucked and I missed quite a few early bands, but overall it was a fun weekend.
i had a fairly good time. unlike past years, i ended up just driving back to san antonio each night (sooo nice to be in your own bed) so i didn't get there everyday till later (3 or 4ish).
friday: james blake>coldwar kids>santigold>kanye
saturday: Darlene Conner (i know, i know. but i had some friends who wanted to go)>cut copy>courtyard hounds>tv on the radio>MMJ
sunday: DFA 1979>manu chao>empire of the sun>arcade fire
i wasn't hugely impressed with the lineup before i went. as we all know, when you start going to fests a lot you start seeing the same people. #firstworldproblems
james blake's set was beautiful, his voice is to die for. kanye put on the same set as he did at coachella. i kind of wished i caught a little of coldplay, but i had some friends start out there and say they were boring! haha
i've never been THE BIGGEST MMJ FAN EVER, but their set was really good and i am more of a believer.
