One question for people who went last year, are there bands playing during the day? Maybe not official Moogfest shows, but like the day parties at SXSW or Hopscotch.
Neon Indian also had a collaboration LP with The Flaming Lips come out earlier this year in limited release. Maybe you could see the Oklahoma/Denton connection get together for some guest spots together at Moog.
It's actually kinda nice to have the days off to wander and explore and eat my way thru Asheville.
Asheville does have some good eats. Abra and I went to the Tupelo Honey Cafe www.tupelohoneycafe.com before the Avett Brothers on NYE this year. It was fantastic. There was actually a line of people outside waiting for it to open.
My Favorite spot to eat in Asheville is Chai Pani. This place is serving up the most delicious Indian Street food at a great price. There is nothing on the menu over $8.99. You have got to check out the Tandoori fish wrap, it is awesome. Chai Pani is located on Battery Park Ave.
My wife and I will definitely be eating there when we come up to the Saturday show of Moogfest.
I saw where they are gonna start letting food carts downtown. I'm seriously hoping they will be setting up shop at nights to catch the Moogerfoogers running from venue to venue.

^^ Not strange at all. Its nice when you don't have to worry about those conflicts.
I'm most excited about the last name Shahzad Ismaily. He's a multi instrumentalist from New York thats played with everyone from Tom Waits and Lou Reed to Nels Cline and Bonnie "Prince" Billy.
But I'll get to see him at ATP with Marc Ribot. You should check it out if you don't know who he is.

I haven't been on here in almost a week. School/work has taken me from busy to suffocating. I got the email and had to jump on here, though. So pumped for Neon Indian! I've seen him 3 times now, and his Moog show last year was the best one of those- despite the fact that the piece of floorboard I was on almost fell through. Apparently it was over a 10 foot orchestra pit.
EDIT: I put the last last additions on the first post. By reading these posts, I gather that I need to check out Emancipator. Also I just read the bio for Shahzad Ismaily from the Moogfest site and he sounds like he puts on a good show!

he's also playing with causing a tiger.
Niice! They really need to add Ribot and have a full on jazz night.
Thats Ismaily on the bass behind the Moog.
