I was searching "Moogfest outdoor stage" on Google and I found a link for a partnership proposal between Moogfest and the Geek Squad (official technology partner of Moogfest). The link would not open but I was able to view it as an html.
This is what I found...
"Outdoor Stage Activation: 20x20 exhibitor area feat. headlining performances from Moogfest musical artists such as the Flaming Lips, Moby, and many more."
This is going to be great!!!
So wait, are we thinking there are going to be headliner type bands playing out there?

The good news I would assume the stage will wrap up rather earlyish (due to sound concerns at an outdoor venue) so we won't be out there at midnight seeing a band, when it starts getting REALLY cold.

Oh, and this...
And, of course, in the next three weeks we’ll be rolling out more information on Moogfest’s panels and workshops, where your favorite artists and insiders will discuss all things Moog and electronic music. A number of this year’s performers will be participating in the panels which will take place all 3 days, including Moby, Dan Deacon, and Alan Palomo of Neon Indian, just to name a few. More details will be announced soon

Bring your jacket!
Well, it's a less than a mile walk back to my house if I need it or anything else!
Another venue of this size really changes the complexion of the festival, huh? If headliners are going to be playing out there, I hope that doesn't mean that some of the type of artists that would have played Thomas Wolfe last year will this year be pushed into the cavernous, concrete, decrepit Civic Center. Maybe the CC even shuts down during certain parts of the night/days?

Excellent! I'll keep that in mind if I need anything from your house too. ;D
And you have not posted since 09. Where you been, under a rock?
Well, obviously I hardly ever posted anything to begin with. Just lurked around for Roo haps, you know. But I ran across this thread, I'm super excited about this, and I've got a ton of (very) local info to share...
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I can see what your saying and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it went down that way. I'm thinking that it will open at 5 and close down about 10 with the "headliner" playing the big stage. I'm personally hoping they keep the ACC open. Makes it easier to get in. But that is my opinion. I'm just glad it exists and I can't wait to see how the schedule pans out.

Yeah, that makes sense. And I meant shut down as far as music goes, not locked up. The schedule is going to be really interesting. I'm also intrigued by the addition of the Diana Wortham Theatre. It's a great place to see acts, and they rarely use the space for that. I got to catch a couple bands there during Transfigurations, and it was great. Not good at all for dancing, though.

I was digging into that place a while ago. I noticed some comedy there. Never any bands/artists. That is awesome news. I'm hoping they put people like Tim Hecker and maybe both Roedelius/Lunz Project as I'd like to see how it did with people that create atmosphere.
Haha.. I thought that you had specific info to give already I'll get back to you with questions! How 'bout a good breakfast spot by the Downtown Inn? One that's good food or one that's good chilling out with a coffee for a bit? (I see myself needing the latter!)

Haha. Early Girl is really close to there, and is excellent especially for breakfast but also good for lunch. You might have to wait just a bit to be seated, but about 1/4 of the amount of time you would wait for Tupelo Honey.
It doesn't move. The patio is nice, too. I'm looking forward to that one again. Firestorm Cafe is right down the road from Downtown Inn .. But I've never been in. I plan to rectify that soon.
So I just saw this and thought I'd post if anyone doesn't have the cash to go:
