Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm tryin' to do some street team work to either afford this or Bonnaroo next year. Hopefully I start school this Aug/Sept and could finish by May/June 2012 so I dunno if I could really manage to do both. We'll see how things go. Plus I'd have to afford a hotel room instead of just campin' at 'Roo where it's included in the ticket price.

Thats the only thing about city fests that sucks is paying for hotels. I've learned though that if you cram as many possible people as humanly possible in a room you end up like paying $20 for the weekend and always have people to hang out with. If you have money to swing both, I hope you do.
I'm just going to pray tickets don't sell out instantly.
I keep going back and forth as to if this will sell out quick. Right now I'm on the you'll be ok side. I think most people willing to go to music festivals have already seen The Flaming Lips. I don't think there is a huge mass appeal for them. I'm not saying they are bad but compared to last years Big Name Act (BNA)( Massive Attack) I think most people will sit on the fence to see if they will add someone else. I'm sure Tier 1 will sell out today and perhaps Tier 2. But I think more than half the tickets are in Tier 3 will not.
But then again .... I never thought Eminem would sell out Bonnaroo and Portishead would sell out ATP.

I went last year and checked all 5 of my accounts and cannot find anything! Is it a certain password for each person or just one password? If its just one password can someone help me out and PM it to me? I would so greatly appreciate it.

ticket purchased.
I've never been so excited to see that someone was using ticketmaster. Tier 1 ticket + 50 dollar TM gift card = $100+fees ticket for thissy. Easiest.Decision.Ever.

According to Ashley Capps' facebook, that's approximately 1/3 of the final lineup!
"Ashley Capps We announced about a third of this year's lineup for Moogfest 2011, Oct 28 - 30, in Asheville. 3-day passes go on sale today at noon eastern. This year's going to surpass the last one. Stay tuned as it unveils over the coming weeks...."
Portishead playing in Mexico City on October 15th. That keeps them on this continent for another two weeks after ATP. Maybe waiting another 2 weeks for headlining gigs at Moog (and maybe Voodoo?) isn't too much to hope for?
AND THEN, there's the fact that Geoff Barrow is already going to be at Moog. From Anika's artist description...
" Anika’s deadpan delivery coos above the post-punk, dub-infused bass assembled by Portishead and Beak founder Geoff Barrow (at Moogfest she’ll be performing live backed by Barrow and fellow Beak members, Billy Fuller and Matt Williams)."
I feel he's exaggerating, I mean there was only 60 acts last year, and now there's supposed to be 90?
UNLESS, they are starting the fest earlier each day. Hm...
I'm thinking they will start earlier in the day. With the addition of a new venue it brings the grand total to 5 (if they use Stella Blue again) which means they only need 6 bands a night at each venue (if it were 90 total). While I don't see that happening, I do see 5 in each one if it started at 2 or 3 each day instead or 5 or 6.

Uh....that sounds like more than just a glimmer of hope. I would actually be surprised if they don't add Portishead now. Maybe they're just waiting for the full North American tour announcement to drop.
longshot wishlist:
Fennesz Merzbow Boredoms
plausible wishlist:
Xiu Xiu Gang Gang Dance Carlos Giffoni Enon Deerhoof Koen Holtkamp Future Islands Black Dice WHY? Noveller Parts & Labor
I doubt we're getting many more "classic" artists, but I would love to have Kraftwerk on the bill. One of these years, Brian Eno in any capacity would be the ultimate coup.
As far as more contemporary acts, Richard James would be an obvious big one, Squarepusher, 808 State, Leftfield (this could happen this year, if their tour coincides), or Autechre would make me beyond happy. As far as smaller, less known acts, I'd love to see some Subconscious Studios representation in either Download, Plateau, or even a solo Cevin Key DJ set.

Let's not forget, this is Portishead we're talking about. A month long tour in North America would be a pretty big change of pace for them.
