Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Best Dance Time: Special Disco (James and Pat even came down and shook hands/elbows with us and told us we were the most fun festival they've played)
Best Light Show: Ghostland Observatory (LAZORSS!!!!)
Favorite Set Overall: St. Vincent (sounded great, awesome light show, lots of energy)
That last bit needs to be emphasized, since she/they had so much energy without hardly moving at all the entire show until she freaked out with the crowd at the end. She is such a fucking intense performer, she makes eye contact with audience members constantly while singing. VERY intense. I was terrified every time she looked me in the eye. Hard to explain unless you see it. Don't know that I've ever seen a performer have so much energy without actually moving. IF AND WHEN SOMEBODY GETS VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE ST. VINCENT SHOW, PLEASE PM ME!
And yeah, the light shows all weekend at all the venues were fucking top-notch. Not just big dumb light shows, but light shows that always seemed to fit the atmosphere of the music.

Yeah, I was a bit to the right when she started going nuts on the crowd and I couldn't edge over enough to touch her but it didn't matter because she had me thoroughly entertained the entire time. I took a couple of videos and I'll try to post up the best one later on.
SATURDAY - Dan Deacon: second time I seen him. Always pretty entertaining with working the crowds, though the music itself is just... odd.
Adrian Belew: Not too bad. Wish I could have seen more.
Flips: Whose idea was it to go see this? I'm not familiar with these guys, but twice I've seen them and aside from the Dark Side set at Roo last year - I haven't been a huge fan. Their lead singer is a gigantic douche also.
Amon Tobin: Pretty good, but not quite as epic as everyone was making it out to be before hand. Expectations seemed a bit unrealistic.
Got tired before STS9 started... damn sleeping patterns.
SUNDAY - Beats Antique - pleasant surprise, knew nothing about them before but would see again
M83 - one of the best sets I saw of the weekend
EOTO - decent, not really paying attention though for much of the set
Decided to go to TWA and power nap. Which well, the power nap went into the start of Umphrey's. I wanted to see them for a while, and can't count this since I could barely stay awake. Damn sleeping patterns...
Oh, and I think I was like two seats over from Ashley Capps at UM. Was he like everywhere, or everywhere?
Ghostland Observatory: favorite set of the weekend, easily

There were so many highlights of Moog for me.
What I loved:
Almost all of the acts were amazing. Good sound, started on time and had lots of energy.
Meeting everyone from Inforoo and hanging out. I also met a lot of random people at Moog who were very cool. Came hope with at least 5 more numbers to hit up at shows in random cities.
Marley Carroll, SBTRKT, Battles, Beats Antique, Childish Gambino were amazing. If you get the chance to check otu Marly Carroll I HIGHLY recommend it!
Getting the pass to sit in on The Naked and Famous' set for the Daytripper session was so cool. I honestly couldn't believe I was there sitting right next to them and they sounded amazing. I only got to hear 3 songs of their set because we arrived late but they were fantastic. I also went to the record store to hear a couple of songs by The Field and that was super cool too.
Asheville as a whole. The city was beautiful and clean. People picked up after themselves and it was by far the best crowd I've ever seen at a fest/show. I only had one little incident of Bros at Passion Pit which is when I just decided to go ahead and leave but for the most part everyone was so helpful and nice. No one pushing toward the front or being douchebags.
AC Entertainment. I thought they did a great job on logistics and lineup for this Fest. It went so smoothly. All the contests/tweets/updates were super cool and I'd love to see more chances to see daytrotter sessions next year.
The costumes. Some of those were so super cool!
Meeting everyone was awesome. I couldn't have had a better experience as far as company. I miss you all already and you are always welcome to crash at my house if you come in or through Knoxville. What made Moogfest my favorite festival was by far inforoo and I'm so down for next year! Feel free to add me on facebook <3<3
Not so great:
Zomby...ugh! I have heard better DJs in local clubs. He would smoke, press play, drink, ajust his mask. It was terribad. In the middle he had some people dancing and I was on the front row dancing as well but then he went into this R&B thing, you could tell he didn't care at all and was basically playing top 40 songs with little artistic input from him whatso ever. I turned around and the place was practically empty. It had went from a couple hundred maybe to around 20-30. I was so pissed off I wasted my time on him. quack ZOMBY!
Sleeping through TV on the Radio. I know I was tired but I just didn't get into it that much. I slept for a couple songs as I planned to go back over to Thomas Wolf and see if the line had moved.
I wanted to check out the Moogaplex and play with some of the instruments but the time just got away from me.
Pictures I didn't take any! I left my SD card in the computer. I'm super sad so if anyone can share pics they took I would be so thankful.
Weather You were there, it was hella cold.
I said it before but this was the BEST Fest of my life. I cannot wait to go back and see everyone. Now my schedule is empty I need something to look forward to!
Amon Tobin: Pretty good, but not quite as epic as everyone was making it out to be before hand. Expectations seemed a bit unrealistic.
I feel like the way the stage had to be set up hurt his set a bit. I was afraid of being too close and being overwhelmed by the visuals, but that certainly wasn't an issue. The set up was 30 feet from the front rail! I understand why they had to do it that way, but still a shame. I'd really love to see his set in a more fitting venue. Some of those visuals were absolutely stunning. Did everyone notice the live hand visuals he was doing via camera? whatthewhat.
Sorry I didn't really meet up with any of you, it was nice to put a few faces with names though for those I did briefly meet.
But seriously, great festival.
You met up with some of us via your friend Stacy outside of the Civic Center though it would have been nice to see more of y'all. I thought it was so random that we met Stacy and she gave us a ride earlier that day only to find out she was friends with an inforooer.

haha, yeah that was pretty nuts. At first I was like, "what are the chances", and then I thought it through and decided I guess it makes sense hardcore music nerds would bump into other hardcore music nerds at things like this, heh.
I was at Suicide while Battles was on but I heard great stuff.
karosko .. how in the hell did I not see you?
I don't know dude! I don't really know what you guys look like except for Jeff, so I was looking for some indication that someone was a board member here all weekend, but didn't see anyone. Were you at the Eno talk? I saw someone that I thought might've been you (from your Facebook pics) but I wasn't certain enough to come say what's up, haha. Sorry I missed all you guys this weekend. Maybe next year at Bonnaroo or Moog.
I think we saw you at James Murphy, if you were with a young lady (blonde I think....), and another couple. We had on a duck and rooster mask, about 10 feet away if it was you. We were debating on whether or not to say hello. We are sure we embarrassed Zapp in front of his cutie, and didn't want to do it to another one of you.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I just feel the need to point out the fact that three artists I wanted to see cancelled, and every time it went exactly like this "What? Ah man that sucks. Oh well, now I can see "this band"". If that's not a sign of a great festival, I don't know what is.
Flaming Lips (COME ON mutherquackers COME ON COME ON COME ON...Jesus, we quacking get it, Wayne Coyne...I don't know what more I could've done to come on, but he kept telling me to come on motherfucker)
He did that at Hopscotch. Pissed me off. He was clearly high as a kite, but it was so obnoxious

Does Wayne actually smoke?
Also, he does that all the time, although he seemed to keep it to a minimum at the Rochester show I caught last week. By minimum I mean only between like 5 songs.

Did anybody end up seeing Brandt Brauer Frick? I had planned on leaving Battles after 45 minutes and catching most of BBF's set, but the combination of an awesome Battles set and comfortable spot at TWA kept me from actually doing that. I heard that packed Asheville Music Hall to capacity.
His eyes looked pretty bloodshot on their screen at Hopscotch. Add in his behavior, esp. all the "come on motherfuckers", and if he wasn't smoking, he was definitely on something

Haha you didn't embarrass me! At first I didn't recognize you at the Lips and was like okay who is this unicorn running at us, but by the time you had your arms around us I realized it was you.

I know he loves weed and is always talking about drugs, but I thought I read somewhere he was sober. I just assumed he was playing up his role as crazy mad scientist guy.

I caught them, I couldn't believe they grabbed that big of a crowd. Good for them.
Set was really good. A lot more straight forward edm-ish than I was expecting. Definitely bumped the energy up another notch when compared to the album.
I'm getting the post-festival blues really hard just going though these. Hopefully seeing Madlib do his Medicine Show set this weekend will change that!
I couldn't even fathom beginning to put together a top10 although I'm certain Flying Lotus would be at the top. Most accounts seem to paint Zomby as the big disappointment with his weird laptop and six-pack set. A lot of people also didn't like Tim Hecker but I think he would have been better recieved at a later time and smaller venue. Missed a lot of groups on Sunday unfortunately but this festival has exceeded my expectations and then some! AC Entertainment's got their work cut out for them next year.

Yeah, I loved pretty much everything I saw there. Holy F%#k! was a nice surprise. Beats Antique and Childish Gambino were my favorite fun sets, the best music was Adrian Belew. Tony Levin played with him too.

Aw, you guys should've said hi, Amy and I would've loved it! That was almost definitely us, even though we were only at that set for maybe 5 minutes. Got there, enjoyed a song, got to shake Murphy's hand as he walked right by us to go talk to the soundboard guy in the middle of the set (!!!), dipped out to see Passion Pit.
How beautiful and wonderful and awesome is Asheville you guys? It's like paradise on earth, which is I guess why you have to ascend so much on the drive up.
