I just don't understand why people compare the two? I have no desire to go to Coachella, but I'm smart enough to know that it's a different ballpark than Bonnaroo. And I'm sure as hell smart enough not to go to the Coachella boards and tell people how Bonnaroo is so much better. (This goes for any festival and/or board actually).
It's just become a weird rivalry at this point, they're both completely different. I don't understand it either.
If Coachella's lineup next year looked like that I'd be pretty jealous. Won't happen however.
There is plenty to be jealous of on face value alone:Not insufflating 2 pound of dust, beautiful grass/ barefoot walking, no humidity, premiere electronic music, and wook free.
This is right though, Coachella is much nicer in some ways than Bonnaroo, but I think certain things Bonnaroo does are way better than what Coachella does.

Absolutely, my subconscious clearly has issues with the conditions at this years Roo and strong nostalgic feelings of Coachella. Apples and oranges, really. Perhaps I will be doing both next year.
People compare the 2 because they are recognized as the 2 largest/best festivals in America. Some people might think other festivals are better but the masses see Coach and Roo as the top 2.
Top Coachella acts are booked Tollett has already booked his 2012 Coachella headliners, marking the first time he's secured them before September.
He's not revealing their names, but he said he's been working with the main bands to let them arrange their tours through regional cities such as Las Vegas, Phoenix, Santa Barbara and San Francisco and wind their way back to play in the same lineup as the first weekend of Coachella.
So far, he said not one band has refused to play Coachella because of the routing challenges, although some bands have decided to vacation in the Coachella Valley with their families. Others are planning to record in Los Angeles.
He said this year's lineup isn't skewing young, like this year's festival, or old, like the 2008 and 2009 festivals.
“It's all over the map,” he said. “I don't ever set out going for a specific — old or younger. Once you start getting one or two (acts), you start seeing where the show is going to go.”
There are bands he's nurtured at past festivals and he said there may be a reunion act, although it won't be a focus of the festival, such as the Buffalo Springfield set at Bonnaroo this summer.
Layaway tickets went on sale for two weeks in early June, but it wasn't to see how many tickets they could sell before announcing the acts, which his direct superior at AEG Live, Gary Phillips, thought was possible. Tollett said he just wanted to give ticket buyers a chance to make 10 monthly layaway payments instead of six, like last year.
“Even though I'm going to be done early with the lineup, I want to wait until the same time we always announce,” he said. “The reason is, I like that urgency when you find out in January and the show's coming up in a couple months. You focus on those bands. You download them and have fun. We don't want it to be a nine-month process.”

I just came from the Coachella board to say that you are all dirty hippies, the farm is not just ugly but completely atrocious and terrible, and everything at Bonnaroo sounds like shit.
