I'm just now getting around to posting my top 5 from Weekend 1.
Oh.my.gaw. I had a ball. We got to camp/meetup with some friends we made on the Sasquatch boards, so it made the camp life so much fun. I'm really looking forward to the Bonnaroo camp life!
I think Coachella totally ties DeLuna with my favorite festival experience, ever.
Top 6 (Because let's face it, 5 is too limiting) 6. St. Vincent (bad ass chick stage dive, anyone?!)
5. Feist (I've come a long way from not tolerating her music pre-Coachella to having my face melted off during "The Bad in Each Other". But for real, if you haven't youtubed it, do it.)
4. Kasabian (homeboy looked like a bono wannabe in his sunglasses, but man they rocked)
3. Flo + the Machine. (Words cannot express. I am just in absolute awe. She is so amazingly talented. I got to sit on my boyfriend's shoulders for a few songs because we were so far back that I couldn't see anything. When I finally saw the world from up top, I about lost my mind)
2. Pulp (Jarvis. I love him. And can we talk about that time he made babies with the stage? He was humping all over the place, it was hysterical, and so Jarvis.)
1. Dr. Dre/Snoop/Hologram/Eminem/50-Cent/etc (OMG! Such a good way to end the weekend. It was hysterical because everyone asked me about the TuPac situation when I returned to work. I got calls from my cousin. I had a 50-year old ask me about it. I had clients asking me about it over the phone. EVERYONE knew about it by the time I landed back in Atlanta.)
What a phenomenal weekend. I mayyyyy post some pictures soon. It was just such a gorgeous venue.
That was my final Coachella. The crowd has changed over the years for the lesser in my opinion. The people, us, make bonnaroo a great place to be and that's why I'll continue to go back year after year. So unless Daft Punk makes a return, 2012 was Final-Chella for me.

I felt like I was in a bad frat-boy porno at the Weekend. M83 was pretty bad before all the rave kids left (after Midnight City) and the rail for Pulp was somewhat marred by all of the Black Keys campers looking bored at Jarvis Cocker. (I came this close to yelling, "What is wrong with you?!" when a girl said that she didn't "get why he's humping those boxes" [monitors])

Which is interesting because lots of people say similar things about Bonnaroo and the crowd changing and stuff like that.

For the record people used to say it about the Dead, and later the Phish scene in the mid 90's.

i may be one of those people this year considering how (although this lineup is still awesome and incredibly deep) there is an extremely high potential for bros to show up in droves. bros always show up, but it might be particularly bad this year. i'm probably going to have to abandon the whole "coachella people look like they suck" thing i've had going for a few weeks now.
Definitely had great crowds for shows like Beirut and Flying Lotus, but The Weeknd crowd was frat-tastic.
No shows in particular (other than the big shows where EVERYONE came together). Radiohead's crowd was sadly disappointing. The festival as a whole seemed much more "sceney." A fad if you will. Definitely lost it's primary focus. Maybe it was the second weekend. Maybe I'm just getting older? All I know is I've been going since 2008 and I could sense a huge difference in 2012 and 2011 specifically.
