That was a crazy-ass weekend! Coachella really knows how to bring it. I had a blast. I was afraid that I would have too much fun and talk myself into going every year, even though I can't. Well that happened. I'm gonna buy a presale ticket and just see how that goes.
My favorite sets in order (more or less): Radiohead/Dre and Snoop (I don't know which was better), Bon Iver, Mazzy Star, SebastiAn, Amon Tobin (I missed his secret show but my neighbor from South Dakota got on stage for it!), Pulp, M83, Swedish House Mafia, and At The Drive-In to round out my top 10. I'm at my layover in Denver right now smelling up the whole airport, but when I get home I'm gonna have to check out some highlights.
Damn that was fun. Less than 2 months until Bonnaroo!!
I don't know man. I still feel pretty good about it. I also feel that the fans are going to bring it twice as hard to make up for sitting on their ass this past weekend. And the bands are probably equally excited to play a second festival date one week later (especially at a setting like Coachella).

Had to work all weekend so I couldn't catch the live streams. Anyone know if all the sets are up on YouTube or anythin' else? I know the Tupac clip is.
Also, fer the attendees, did anyone catch Wallpaper.? I'm very curious what his set is like live.

There's a few posted on this thread. I know I saw the Radiohead set posted on here along with The Weeknd.
Holy hell Coachella brought it this year...I realized Roo really needs to step their game up. It will always be my first love but Coachella has quickly become quite the competitor in my heart. Full review when I get home from work

So I got to M83 as they were just starting and the tent was PACKED. And the sound was really super quiet. And then all the rave kids left after Midnight City. It was weird.

They were great the other two times I've seen them, and I'm glad I have tickets for their Buffalo show to make up for it. It was a bummer.
Also Coachella's production and organization just absolutely beats Bonnaroo's in every way that it's kind of discouraging. Everything was fixed from a 2010, more showers, the wristband system, much less crowded (no gatecrashers) and a better food court. It was just so much more manageable and overall pleasant experience.

exactly what NoD said...Coachella fixes their problems every year and improves on the issues from the previous years while Roo doesnt. No exaggeration...I didnt wait longer then 15 min to take a shower any day and I only used one semi-dirty port-a-john all weekend. The ground are always clean and the security line was long at times but never longer then a 20 min wait.
I have been an M83 fan since 2004. I have seen them live 5 times. This new album and their live show in support of it have pretty much sealed the deal that I will never see them again. Their Coachella set was pretty shitty in my opinion.
With that said, another amazing year at Coachella. I miss it already. The weather was great this year, the sound was great, the people were great, the food was great, insert the blank was great (except M83).

Come on.....really? Roo has improved a ton of things since I started going. Granted, it may not be as extensive as Coachella has seemed to improve things but there are LOTS of areas Roo has fixed/made better over the years IMO. I agree that some things seem to be ignored/never fixed but let's not act like Bonnaroo is the same logistically as it was in the first few years.

Whats the last production upgrade Roo has done? Put a screen at the which? The line to get in is still hours long, the bathrooms are still a mess, the shower lines are long as hell (the VIP showers that Roo uses are the regular showers at Coachella and there's 3 more trailers for a much smaller campground), they have done zero upgrades to the tents. Just plop em down add some weak ass lights at the front? The art (or lack there of) has gone way downhill. The food is the same food its been for the past 5 years (except for the addition of the food trucks..thats the one upgrade that made it better)...just cause you add 10 frozen lemonade carts or 5 more arepa stands you dont get to claim a wider variety of food. The have continuously overlooked the fact they need to add shade especially near the which. Making the line to get in go from 15 hours to 10 hours is minimal improvement. I dont feel Roo ever spends any money on production. The Sahara tent alone adds something new every year. I didnt wait in a security line longer then 20 min at Coachella and that was the first day when they were making it a point to search extensively. I just wish I felt that when I went to Roo I could say "Oh look what they did differently this year with {insert} stage or tent" The big improvement this year? Fixing the ditch between the Which and What? because the past 10 years it was too hard to fix?
And before someone goes off on me...I love Roo, if it ever comes down to only being able to attend one fest it will always be Roo, but this weekend was an eye opener in terms of how far behind Roo is falling with production.
