They are my nemisises. A few years back on Sunday I was craving soda (or pop, depending on where you're from) but am not a huge Pepsi fan. I saw that they were selling root beer floats so I asked if I could just get a root beer.
No.
Okaaaay. Trying a different tack: How about a root beer float but holding the ice cream.
No.
Really? I'll pay the root beer float price.
No.
You don't even have to fill the cup. You can still put the quarter of a cup's worth that normally goes into a float.
No.
A couple of people got in line behind me so I just gave up.
Happy Ending: I wandered over to What and tried the Ben and Jerry's stand.
Sure!
I thanked them profusely and related my encounter at the other place. The guy's like 'take a big drink and I'll refill you.'
Ben and Jerry's rules.
ahaha I had this EXACT SAME exchange at a local food festival tryin to get a Birch Beer except they did eventually cave (told me to never tell anyone, whoops) but the catch was the sodas were flat/gross/expired. :\ still feel like I kinda won tho. And I do love that ice cream stand at roo! Swirl w/sprinkles please!

Also, a PSA regarding Samosaman.
First, let me say that I am a fan. I've only had positive Samosaman experiences at every Roo I've attended (7). However, at Solid Sound last year they were selling what can only be described as still frozen samosas. And it wasn't like I was the only one affected. There was a secondary line full of people who were all in the same boat as I - who had bitten into a frozen samosa. The replacements Samosas were not frozen but were cold inside.

I'm going to try really hard to find "Siri Grill": according to their menu on the app, they are selling "Homade lemonade". That is a process I wanna see.
After further review, Roti Rolls wins with there "Thurman Murman"
Actually, through stringently peer-reviewed scientific studies, the Thurman Murman has been determined to create inside the human digestive tract a biological version of Dante's Inferno (that was the metaphor chosen by the PhD's, not me) - a literal nine circles of hell - a Porto-bursting, ringmeat-searing bowel movement that has been described by recovering sufferers as 'a napalm enema, with tacks'.
I would stay away from the Roti Rolls truck, seriously everyone - just tryin to be your cornhole's savior.

guys Dani and Dave's is the best for breakfast. their coffee is amazing, and their sandwich's are great for brunch. But mostly the owners are so nice!! they love it if you talk to them about going each year and seeing them. Dani follows me on instagram even.

I want a Jerry Roll ON THE IMMEDIATE! I usually eat my lighter foods from home during the day so that I'm not draggin' a$$, and save myself for a glorious Jerry Roll or Spicy Pie at night

Beer and apples for breakfast! Pesto grilled cheese at brunch! Butterfly fries, waffle ice cream sandwiches, spicy pie, bacon wrapped deep fried hot dogs, is liquer food? ...I lived off free odwalla and ice cream in 2010.

What's a jerry roll?
It's like a big egg roll. You can get it with just cabbage and other vegetables or you can add chicken, lamb, or beef. It's really good, but it's like a brick in your stomach

The hot dog stand outside the WHICH Stage. Yes, I know, that narrows it down a bunch, but they have the most amazing chili dogs. Best served after midnight. My brother knows the name, when I discover it, I will share it all with you good people.
Maybe planet roo (I've never made it in there) but also try the food trucks... Be prepared to bring food from home or just let it go for the weekend...

I plan to eat Spicy Pie first. Then I'm going to eat another slice of Spicy Pie. Then I'm going to alternate between Spicy Pie and Spicy Pie, and I'll repeat that cycle until I leave the farm… It has been 3 years since I've tasted heaven in a slice, I've gotta make up for lost time. Just kidding, but not really. I'm sure I'll eat other offerings, but the above is fairly accurate.
For my wife, as long as i keep her stocked with cheese fries and corn dogs, she's a happy camper.
