Alrighty folks, I do want to apologize for getting a little bent outta shape. I have been posting while I have been a little pissed, but LLL's post about this being like a movie character has helped put things back into perspective for me. That and I just realized how long it has been since I had any smiley posts and forgot how awesome my little yellow minions are. I am going to the rest of the arcade here shortly.
I will regroup my thoughts and opinions later this evening. Something big (not as big as my . . nevermind) that I have overlooked is who I think the inspector is. I could be right about my mafia guesses, I could be wrong about em. Either way I have not tried to see any connections about my thoughts on mafia vs who the inspector is and if any clues were left since it seems they are dead.
Long story short, I could see how my last series of posts makes it look like I don't care about the game much. That was my mistake. If I don't care, I don't share; sharing is caring, and I like to share
On a side note SFA, you better get your ass to that show!!!!
OK, ladies and gentlement, I'm going to talk about something that I originally wasn't going to talk about. That is, why I think Mike D, Sarah, and Holls are Mafia.
Before anyone asks, I PM'd NBF and asked her how she would feel about me sharing this information. She said that she didn't see a problem with it. So here we go.
Last game, I was mafia (for the first time) with Mike D and Scrog (additional proof that a newb can be mafia in his or her first game). Anyways, the three of us exchanged plenty of PMs, discussing strategies, inspector guesses, etc. This is a PM I recieved from Mike D early on, regarding some strategies.
I have won all but one of the games I have been mafia. Without kdogg playing, I say our chances are really good that we can do it. Looking at the players, here is who I think we need to be most concerned about:
1 Bec - tons of mafia experience in all roles 2 NBF - seems to be very intelligent when it comes to reasoning and debates 3 EAP - fair amount of experience, good all around player 4 LLL - she has been crazy good in her first two games, but with what has already been said, we need to kind of leave her alone honerable mention to Bacon
A few notes/comments I have: You don't want to have a very low post count, to check post counts in a thread, click the number of posts a thread has. First time mafia players tend to take the lead or heavily support vote stacking in rounds 2 and 3. Yes we will know much more about this game than the townies, but we don't always need to speak up about it, this will be a red flag for inspector guesses. We could try all of us being quiet in the game. Usually the inspector looks for one quiet person towards the bottom 2-3 in post counts, I don't think I have seen a game where all mafia were in the middle/lower third in post counts. I tend to play more defense than offense in all my games, which makes it slightly easier to turn around on a townie who calls me out. Don't over defend or reply to every single little thing said against you, just enough to get your point across that you are innocent. At some point we need to "attack" each other to avoid looking like we are working together. Remember, the inspector already has one of our names to start off.
We will worry about whacks when the time comes. Make notes on who you think could be inspector and also note which posts led you to that.
Let me repeat the part that applies to my idea:

Now, go look at the post counts. As of right now, here they are (active players only, ranked least to most):

I am not trying to use this conversation between Mike D and I as proof, just an explination as to why he has been so quiet. I know I am not the only one that has considered the possibility of all 3 of them being guilty.
Let me remind you all, if the mafia are fully intact, and they survive Day 3, they win, and in a very dominating fashion.

OK, first of all: my low post count is because IT'S MY FIRST GAME EVER and I didn't know that posting a lot was expected. That handy list of tips you shared? I never got anything like that. I held back early in the game so I could observe. Mea culpa.
And FYI: I've been SLAMMED at work lately getting ready for classes to start on Monday. Otherwise I'd be a posting fool during the day.
Secondly: you and I are EVEN in the post count. If you think that indicates my guilt, then using your same logic, I can think the same of you. And in fact, I do.
My gut tells me that Scrog was Mafia and possibly EAP, too. So if my guess is correct, there's only 1 Mafia left...and you can bet your sweet asss it ain't me. At first I was suspicious of SFA because it seemed like he was trying too hard to appear innocent, but now I'm 99% sure he actually is. That's why I switched my vote back to YOU.

JHammett - I'm pretty sure I just lost respect for you for posting that. And was the 2nd post stating your edit really necessary?
I'm voting for you. I don't care if you are mafia or townsperson. That was really shitty IMHO.
I'm actually kind of surprised that the ref allowed this. I'm disappointed because I don't think that PMs (which stands for private messages) from previous games should be used against players not associated with that information at all. It's more of a matter of integrity to me.

The reason this is wrong doesn't have anything to do with roles in this game. Yes, some will say but Mafia is a dirty game, all's fair in love and Mafia. Bullshit. This would be like me hacking into someone's account or secretly taping a phone conversation. Even a "dirty" game should be played with integrity and respect. Without consent From the author of the message, the content of a PM should never be shared publicly.

I'm not going to comment on this during the game except to say that jhammett asked if I objected to him disclosing prior strategy discussions from a previous mafia game where he was mafia. After rereading the rules, I did not (and still do not) feel that it violated any of them. If we need to discuss this further after the game is over, that's fine, but that's all I'm going to say for now.

I was already starting to doubt Jhammetts Mafianess when I realized how hard the stack was starting to fall on him, almost proof that he isn't Mafia. And now he has named the two other players I suspected of being his partners. Jhamm is either definitely not Mafia or all three Mafia are still alive and they include Jhamm and are now splitting away from each other in a coy little ploy.
I wish the Inspector were still alive so we could have gotten at least one name from them. Son of a bitch.

This is not Jack's first game. He's lived at least one long life in Mafia 37. Choosing your words is part of staying alive. He made a deciding vote and just says 'after giving it careful consideration'? Doesn't that just scream Look at MEEEE!! Kill Meeee tonight! ?? Seems irresponsible for an inspector who needs to live as long as possible for the townies to win. Thats my sticking point on Jack=Inspector. Thoughts??

I definitely understand your position, the way the rules for this game have been defined sets precedence for handling issues in this way.
I find it sad that rules like most of the ones on page one even have to exist. Common sense, integrity, and respect should make such rules Obvious without having to state them. I guess I give people way too much credit.
Funny that Jham waits to post anything about this until now when he's obviously going to be voted off even though he brought it up pages ago. Seems like something Mafia would do to save their ass, not what a townsperson would do to help root out the mafia players. I'm not buying it.
Again, I have zero issue with the content what jhammett shared, it's the fact that it was shared at all that pisses me off. I can't even imagine how angry I would be if someone publicly shared a message that was sent in the confidence of privacy.

Meh. If Jack was Inspector, Jhamm is Mafia, he initiated the voting partnership.
If EAP was, then Sarah is likely Mafia. Sarah and Scrog were the only two players to vote EAP, and EAP voted for Sarah most frequently.
There are four players I am sure or at least pretty sure are not Mafia.
Me SFA (Unless he is mindfucking me beyond belief right now with this playing) EAP Jack
The person who has voted for 3/4 of us is........Sarah.
Holls, Fawn, Jhamm, Scrog all voted for 2/4 of us.
Mike D has avoided us. That just means he could be the "under the radar" Mafia.
If Sarah is Mafia, then her likely partners are Holls, Mike D, or Fawn. These three have not voted for Sarah AT ALL. Holls and Fawn were first round partners, I don't count that vote against each other. Mike D voted for Fawn this round. Hasn't made it count yet, so this can also be dismissed.
Jhamm had voted for almost everyone at one time or another, except SFA, who has also not voted for Jhamm, and Scrog also voted for neither. Since I'm pretty sure of SFA NOT being Mafia, I dismiss this trio as a possible Mafia trio.
NoAge left too early to tell too much because first round first votes are kind of hard to gauge, unless a person is Inspector, and he clearly was not.
I agree that the stongest Mafia possibilities lie with Sarah, Holls, Mike D and possibly Fawn. I hope all three are not alive because we are fucked.

Fawn, if you are not Mafia, I urge you to change your vote. You are the one of the 4 primary suspects that I am least suspicious of. We can always go back and get rid of Jhamm, because if he is Mafia, he is probably not working with Holls and Sarah at this point, unless he is the sacrificial lamb. We will be able to tell who is Mafia this kill. If Mike D is not involved, we have likely already voted one of them off.

Umm? really? This sounds awfully similar to a move someone made last game, in a last ditch effort to save his own ass while behind in the votes. While yall are getting hung up on that, take a look at it.
1) The Referee randomly chooses from the 11 players three Mafiosi and one Inspector. All the rest are Townspeople. Each player is informed of their role via PM, and are not allowed to share that information with one another except in the official Mafia game thread. The Mafia are informed of one another's identity, and they are allowed to converse among themselves via PM. To put it plainly: a) If you are not a member of the mafia, do not discuss the mafia game outside the mafia thread with any other player or with any non-player who might discuss the game with a player. b) If you are a member of the mafia, you may discuss the game freely among your fellow mafia only. Do not discuss the game outside of this thread with any non-mafia player.
And I know I wont get a response, but come the fuck on.
