It says “shows” not events. Counting 4 days of a festival as 1 show seems illogical. Seems pretty much like a BS record to me.
yes it's a dumb record I agree but how much of a set qualifies as "seeing a show" I don't see how you can make that argument.
At least for me at a fest, if I was at 2/3 of a set I count it. Same scenario if I go to something and leave early because it sucked.
I definitely used to do a lot of “drive-by” viewing at fests where I would check something out for 10-15 minutes then move on. I never counted those when I wrote down what shows I saw.
I definitely had a few years pre-pandemic where I probably saw 50 individual local shows + Bonnaroo (32ish shows IMO) + Random City Festival (20ish shows) + 5 Broadway shows in a year without much work. And I think I’m on the low end of seeing shows for posters.
Also, I’m going to 2 nights of Umphrey’s McGee at First Avenue this Friday and Saturday. IMO, they do 2 shows of 2 sets each for a total of 4 sets. You can buy it as a single “event”.
So does UM count as 1 show, 2 shows, or 4 shows?

so being on the rail is generally unimportant to me. i've done it for various shows and it is super cool and unique, but IMO it's not worth the amount of time you have to put it. like i did this one time for phish, a buddy of mine and I were in the lot early and walked by the line to get in, it was short, doors were in about half an hour, and we said why not, lets get up front for a set. we went in early and stood on the floor for two hours before the show started. and it was cool! but as cool as it was after the first set we fell to the back of the pit.
if an artist you love is coming to town and it's a one time deal and you are like fuck it lets put in the time and get front and center, all power to you have a great show.
what i don't get are people who feel like they have to do this at every single show. it really boggles my noggle. like you are seeing Goose for several or more shows and at every single one of those you spend all day in line then hours just standing at the rail inside the venue? that's time you could be exploring the city you are in, or having a nice meal or some drinks at the bar, or laying around your hotel room watching The Irishman for the third time.

Also these appear to just be two random people lmao? I keep digging and there are a lot of posts about Leslie especially but I cannot pass judgment here since I know better than to trust what anyone says on a forum post. However I did see someone write on the “Goose haters enter” thread on Phantasy tour, and I quote, “There’s a reason that the real talented band sun the scene like the biscuits and panic laugh at goose and their fans”. Unclear if that one was written by Esteban’s illiterate evil twin.
goose twitter/reddit has been heating up lately. that leslie chick had a gofundme to pay for medical expenses and used all the money to go on goose europe tour or something. and the whole phish/goose fanbase antagonism reminds me a lot of the early 2000s when it was phish/DMB stuff. the druggies vs. the youth group kids.
you spend all day in line then hours just standing at the rail inside the venue? that's time you could be exploring the city you are in, or having a nice meal or some drinks at the bar, or laying around your hotel room watching The Irishman for the third time.
When I flew out to Red Rocks last year, I was texting (I think) Tronik about meeting up before the show. The whole group got there at like Noon to get in line for posters.
It's my first time in Colorado and I was only out there like 48 hours. I went exploring downtown Denver and then hit up a brewery near my hotel. I'll see you guys at 7.
It wasn't just the posters. It was also GA and GA is fierce at Red Rocks. You got to benefit from our all day waiting or you would have been at the tippity top.

the drama also aligns nicely with the general disdain for rail riders, since leslie is the queen of the goose rail rider crew.
i try not to judge, but now i'm gunna judge, it's pretty gross to do a gofundme for therapy and then go on a full europe tour. like i'm not saying you need to stop going to live music just because you did a gofundme for therapy, but a europe tour is a luxury. she says she didn't use the gofundme funds for the europe tour, but like if you had money for a europe tour maybe use that for your therapy instead of asking people for money and then using other money for a europe tour?

I got banned from the cybertruck sub on Reddit on my first comment. I asked if it could touch water. I responded to my banishment message and said that the mods are as thin-skinned as their cult leader and finished off with “Free Speech Absolutist”.
They reversed my ban to just being muted for a month haha
