I have to agree, Bassnectar i'm sure will be a draw for some, but I don't see Jim James & Co having them as the days headliner for a fest like this. Like wommuck said, its gotta be something pretty sweet if they make an announcement like this for one band.
I just don't have the time or patience to realistically speculate on who it could be, so I am going with the standard response to festival adds - Neil Young ;D although I would see it being something along the lines of Foster The People, Mumfors & Sons, Avett Brothers, John Butler Trio?? Do you think it would be a bigger name than those if they are making a big deal over 1 band though?
Now what would make sense is if the act they are announcing just had a concert in the Lville area or just had a show sellout in the louisville area. Therefore announcing they are playing no longer conflicts with ticket sales

Cage the Elephant just had tickets go on sale in Nashville on Friday. Doubt it sold out, but I have no idea.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros just announced a tour today. Available Forecastle weekend. They'd certainly "bob heads", but do they "blow minds"? Perhaps.

I doubt it's another headliner. Surely they would have mentioned that there was still one more headliner TBA when the initial lineup dropped if that was the case. That's what both Jazz Fest and Hangout did earlier this year. Plus, is Bassnectar as a headliner really that much of a stretch? He's one of the bigger EDM names around, and don't those Basscenter things sell out arenas? He's definitely not a favorite of mine, but dude pulls a crowd.

That's why I can't argue that it is in fact a headliner. You're right, he's not my cup of tea but the dude is huge.
OMG

between The Galt House, The Seelbach, and The Brown, they are the 3 fanciest, most unique in the city. The Seelbach and The Brown may be a bit fancier, but the Galt House is definitely the most widely known as a Louisville landmark and has a lot of history behind it. It's also right on the river making it the closest to the festival.
SIMPLE MINDS? (*waxes nostalgic for high school days*)
Bloody hell, that is an amazing lineup! I'd love to see We Are Augustines, Wooden Shjips, The Horrors, Yeasayer, White Lies, Francois & the Atlas Mtns, Zola Jesus, etc. (and even Scroobius Pip?!?) all on the same bill. Wow.
Anybody have a ticket to this they'd like to trade for a Forecastle VIP experience?
Seems Best Coast is booking shows on the East Coast the week after Forecastle.
Best Coast announced a tour today. 07/12 – Atlanta, GA @ Variety ^ 07/13 – Chapel Hill, NC @ Cat’s Cradle ^ 07/14 – Washington, DC @ 9:30 Club ^ 07/16 – Philadelphia, PA @ Union Transfer ^ 07/17 – New York, NY @ Terminal 5 ^
Gap on Sunday. Not sure about the 10 hour drive from DC or the 11 to Philly.
