between The Galt House, The Seelbach, and The Brown, they are the 3 fanciest, most unique in the city. The Seelbach and The Brown may be a bit fancier, but the Galt House is definitely the most widely known as a Louisville landmark and has a lot of history behind it. It's also right on the river making it the closest to the festival.
Also, have y'all seen the photo of the pool? Hot day at a festival, cool down with bourbon/swim/nap and head back
I've heard the newly renovated Ice House is supposed to host aftershows this year. The capacity is around 2400. The Belle only accommodates 650-750 people. MMJ almost sold out the Yum Center, so a 750 seat show would be disappointing and might induce rioting! I'd be surprised if Headliners, Zanzabar or the Monkey Wrench didn't host something awesome for Forecastle. Eats downtown: Patrick O'Sheas and my personal favorite Against the Grain Brewery! If you're driving, there's tons of great local places to eat throughout the city. If you get out to Bardstown Road, Wick's pizza and Cumberland Brewery are great. If you can find a seat, the Holy Grail has the best beer outside of Against the Grain! Louisville prides itself on small business promotion (Keep Louisville Weird!) so try some of the local fair and wares if you can. I just got my ticket and can't wait!
I second Wick's Pizza. It is probably the best pizza I've had here in town! Thanks for the BBQ recommendation. I'll be sure to check it out soon.
I'm thinking I'm going to buy single day passes for Friday and Saturday. But I'm still tossing the idea around for going all together. It looks like it should be a good time.
Besides, I was practically raised on Makers Mark, so what better excuse to sip on that for a weekend?!
For the money, might as well get a weekend pass rather than two day passes
You're probably right. I'll keep an eye on the passes and the cost fluctuation, but with a combination of favoring the line up on Friday and Saturday and needing to travel back to Atlanta for work, I am not sure if Sunday will be all that conducive. I'm not 100% in my plans just yet.

Facebook announcement says "Bonobo" added to Saturday
"Bonobo, one of the hottest names in electronic music, is joining Saturday's lineup! Expect a body-rocking DJ set loaded with hip hop, funk and dub. More artist additions and plenty of fun still to be announced!"

Well that was a real weenie shrinker. Ah well. I'm not hating though just not sure if that was worth a special announcement. Perhaps all forthcoming additions will get this treatment?
With it being a Saturday add I'm ok with it not being something I will see. Saturday is going to be full of conflicts anyways. Give us the real music on Friday please
