So I just got done looking at the map for the festival and I am very skeptical of the situation with the smaller tents, mainly the Ocean, Port, and Starboard stages being way too close to each other. Waterfront park is huge and for them to only utilize the main lawn area is pretty ridiculous. If any one remembers 2010 the Ocean stage was in the bowl to the east of the main lawn, which was by far my favorite stage. The Boom stage is where Halfway to Forecastle was held and was kind of a downer because its all concrete (if I remember correctly). I'm sure it will turn out fine, but logistically I think it could have been set up a little better. T minus 7 days bitches!!!
The Port and Starboard may be close together, but there is no overlap at all on the schedule between those two stages.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

I got my fancorps ticket to friday now I need to get one for Dave, been watching craig's list and found one for 50 bucks, going to see if the price drops after the weekend. Also looking for a place to crash for Friday that's cheap. If anyone local knows a hotel/motel close (within a 30 min drive) that's cheap lmk. EEK so excited about this!

That was my favorite stage too! You had a good view from all spots and it was shaded. That really sucks.

Scouting out our cheap eats options I discovered that the Jockey Silks/Bourbon Room has a gift certificate on restaurant.com. It is at the Galt. Anyone wanting to save some mullah on food, this seems like a good lunch option before heading into the festival. No, the certificate is NOT good for alcohol, lol. Just food.
We are gonna also try the Doc Crow's place- it is in between the Galt and the festival. Reasonably priced for some interesting sounding menu options (we like BBQ and seafood so this appears to be a less expensive route compared to what the Galt has).

i second this question, if anyone knows of anywhere please let us know. i need one for friday and sat night.
and for all those asking, GO SEE DR DOG!!!!!!!!!!! They are my favorite live act ever, so my opionion is biased. but if you like mmj then these guys are a must!
? for the locals. Any where downtown that you would recommend for brunch on Sunday?
Anyone can go to restaurant.com and buy a certificate for the Jockey Silks restaurant- I think it was $10 for $25 worth of food? If you do a search on restaurant.com with the zip code 40202, you get like 70 results for Louisville eateries, only a handful are downtown though.
I don't know of anywhere downtown for Sunday brunch- I've just been looking at restaurants/bars through mapquest (looking for stuff within walking distance of the Galt).
I think Gibran suggested Wild Eggs for breakfast- it's not in downtown though- but the menu looks killer.

I just looked at Doc Crow's menu, and I think that's a must for my wife and me.
I find myself in need of a ride to either Nashville(for the megabus) or better yet Chattanooga on Monday. If anyone is heading that direction, and has room, I'll put in on the gas. I'd much rather ride to Nashville with a fellow board member then spend 7 hours sitting around waiting for the night bus, which is my only option if I take the 6am one from Louisville.

Anyone need my 3 day passes? I have 2 at the early bird price of $115 after fees. Email me at juleholAThotmail.com soon because the show is next week!!!
Anyone needing a place to crash Friday night is welcome to crash with me if you're comfortable with that. I have a full size air mattress and living room floor to offer.
As far as places to go eat down town I have no idea. Most are either really high dollar (like $50+ for a meal) or over priced tourist places. I'd suggest looking elsewhere. There are some amazing restaurants in pretty close proximity to downtown.

I'm staying in Louisville til Tuesday, if you want to wait for the night bus in L you can hang around with me. Dunno if that helps you out, but throwing it out there.
Does anyone know if the main stage pit works like it does at Roo? Line up a bit before the act and get in? I know you need passes for pit at the MMJ set, but every other set at that stage should be good for GA pit access, right?

In the past pit was for VIP only. Not sure how they are doing it this year.

Thanks for the offer. I think things are going to work out, one way or the other. The problem with the Megabus is that the night bus doesn't have connections home once I'd be in Nashville. I could do it with Greyhound but it's almost just as much layover time for around twice the price. Either way, I'll make it work. I'll let you know if I end up doing a bus. We'll find something to do I'm sure.
My issue is: I wouldn't have too much a qualm driving to Nashville - I just have no reason to be there. Driving three hours or so there isn't a big deal, turning right back around and driving three hours to L would suck. I would have to make it worth it to venture to N.
