I've got one (maybe two) 3-day pass that just became available that I am willing to sell for well under what they're going for through the site. Don't want to clutter the thread up but PM me if you're interested. I could ship in the next few days within KY or meet up early Friday in Louisville. It's gonna be a blast!
So I just got done looking at the map for the festival and I am very skeptical of the situation with the smaller tents, mainly the Ocean, Port, and Starboard stages being way too close to each other. Waterfront park is huge and for them to only utilize the main lawn area is pretty ridiculous. If any one remembers 2010 the Ocean stage was in the bowl to the east of the main lawn, which was by far my favorite stage. The Boom stage is where Halfway to Forecastle was held and was kind of a downer because its all concrete (if I remember correctly). I'm sure it will turn out fine, but logistically I think it could have been set up a little better. T minus 7 days bitches!!!
According to Google's satellite image, there's a rectangle of grass where they're putting the Boom stage. Hopefully it's enough for the acts playing there (although I'm personally only planning on seeing JTE on that stage).
I'm more concerned about I-64 being directly above "The Galley" as well as what appears to be a water inlet that divides the Boom stage and entrance from the other stages. The map only shows it extending along the VIP section, but the satellite shows water all the way to the entrance. There might be a few bottlenecks at the footbridges over that. It looks like that "Ghost Ship" art thing will be in the waterway between those footbridges (http://forecastlefest.com/activities/living-art-exhibitions/)
I am similar to RDK. Not going to the sound check but will be in VIP. I want to go to the Louiville Slugger Museum on Saturday but can work that around brunch plans if a group gets together.
Hi y'all. I've got a few questions that all seem to revolve around the consumption of alcohol. Does anyone know if there are mini fridges at galt house? Not the mini fridges full of expensive stuff you have to buy but empty ones. Also, are their open container laws in Louisville? Do bars stop serving alcohol at a certain time? Signed, Clearly from New Orleans
Bars close at 2am or 4am depending on the bar/part of town. Technically you aren't allowed to consume alcohol publicly, however, police are fairly lax on enforcing it. Me and a crew of 10 or so friends are going to eat brunch (noonish?) at Lynns Paradise Cafe on Saturday if any one is interested. Its a little pricey but by far my favorite place, plus it saves me from having to cook breakfast for a bunch of hung over fools.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
