Last day of work is tomorrow!! Happy dance!! We're leaving at 9 a.m. from Nashville Friday morning...hoping to get in earlier than the 3:00 check in time, so we can get situated and relax before we have to get in line for the gates to open. Did anyone else notice the gates open 30 minutes before the 1st band comes on??? Yeah, that won't be a clusterf*** at all!
Linz- I just posed your clustercluck gates question to them on Facebook. Hopefully we get some resolution.
I have contact info for maybe 10 people here. Some big names aren't even on the list.
So, who wants a part?
Oh, I remember Occupy New Haven had a thing on Mayday in NYC, everyone texts a number and everyone signed up can access this group text number - one person can send and receive texts from everyone else in it. I just don't know what its called.

yeah that's what I was talking about LD, if you want to fwd me the list I can make the texting group thing and add some of the ppl I already have from the ROO list on it. You have to reply as soon as you get the invite to be added to the text list, if you don't it will boot you out.

Aaaaand Forecastle avoided addressing the gates clusterfuckkk by replying that they would open half an hour before the start of first sets. One entrance too. Lame.

I only have Banshee, Wannaberooer, Whoreshack, and a couple others. Its not much. Seriously lacking.
They are on my laptop, so I'll check that later. Hopefully I get some time tonight.
As for when I get to L, I'll be looking for food and maybe a little gathering on Fri afternoon.
How would everyone feel about just getting some pizza or something Friday? There are a couple good places in town, one of which is walking distance from the Galt. What time is everyone thinking?

We are getting in around 3 on Friday as well. But I think we're gonna just hit the Bourbon Bar real quick before heading to the festival. Pizza does sound good though- we bought a certificate at restaurant.com to eat at the Bourbon/Jockey Silks Room- gonna hit it up on Friday.
Sunday brunch vote?
swirling restaurant in the sky, the Rivue
or some other place like Toast on Market (within walking distance of festival)
So as I sit here in traffic (going on 2 hours now) I just want to reiterate that everyone should plan accordingly! 65 is down to one lane at the bridge and it's causing serious delays. Also that's causing more people to take the bridge downtown which is really contesting all of the downtown area.

They completely ignored my question about why they took away 2/3 of the park for festival use. In 2010 the festival was spread out over the entire park meaning that there were shaded places to chill and even a stage completely surrounded by trees. According to the map this year, all the shaded area of the park isn't included. I know for a fact they're selling more tix this year, so I asked them (in a very nice way!), how come if they're selling more tix this year why are they not utilizing the entire park. Still waiting for an answer...

I heard about that construction from a coworker who went to Indiana a few weekends ago. Do you know what exit/mile marker it begins at? Is there any detour if we're coming 65 North?

Are you coming 65 N to the Galt house? If so you'll be able to exit downtown before the detours, but you'll probably definitely be stuck in traffic for a while.

Yup. Someone else made that point on FB, as well. So much for AC's big improvements! Sorry, I'm feeling pretty let down by the corporate take-over so far. Hopefully, it all works out for the best for this little fest. We'll still have a blast.

Banshee- How's it look for me coming in from Lexington? Is 64 all cool? Any detour suggestions?

Yep, we're staying at the Galt. Oh well, at least we'll be prepared! Thanks for the heads up!
LD - the construction is on the bridge crossing into IN. But the traffic stays backed up a couple miles or more either way. And no it won't be done until like August or September I think.
Whore - It depends on which way you come. Will you be taking the Bluegrass or coming through Frankfort? Either way I don't think you have a detour, just the congestion to deal with. I could be wrong though. The exit from 64 to 65 is closed and one more.
LD - I would take the Waterson to Bardstown Rd, go north on Bardstown and it turns into Baxter and then from Baxter take Market St which puts you right down town. I will earn you that this either works great or terribly. I think it's worth the gamble because 65 is definitely going to have delays. So I guess it depends in if you're a gambling man. I'd take Bardstown personally. Maybe someone else from here can chime in?
Whore - you'll be fine. I never take 64, but I have to drive over it every day when I cross the bridge to work and I never see traffic backed up with the exception of if you happen to Arrive at rush hour, which is expected.

Coming from the airport its almost inevitable to use I-65 unless you want to try Watterson Expressway, which won't really get you going in the right direction. I would jump on I-65 until Jackson St. Traffic can get really backed up on I-65 however, around exit 136C (Jackson St) should be moving fairly quickly. This is ~2 miles from downtown. You can chose to take any exit between the airport and downtown, but this is the one I'm most familiar with. It will put you on Jackson street which runs north, parallel with I-65. It will take you straight to Main St. Bust a lefty on Main, go under the I-65 overpass and laugh at everyone waiting in line, and take a smooth right turn into the Galt House.
Still take a left on Main St off Jackson, then take a left onto 2nd St. A lot of the downtown streets are one-ways so be on the look out and don't take a wrong turn.
I still can't get confirmation from Forecastle as to the pit system on the main stage. Will it be GA like Roo? I've tweeted, Facebooked, e-mailed, the whole deal -- no reply. What gives??
