People on Ultra's FB page are irate that the lineup wasn't released within the one week window. I'm not too upset, but I do hope we get Phase 2 shortly.

Pretty weak phase 2 IMHO. I was hoping for more live bands, but I guess the disinterest in that stuff last year put a stop to it, unfortunately.
I'm pretty psyched for DJ Shadow and Pendulum though. Plus I hear good things about Madeon. And I guess Wolfgang Gartner will be ok? (trying to stay positive here)
All in all this lineup is far inferior to 2011 and 2010, but still overall pretty great and enough to keep me happy

I also was hoping for more live bands, but I was pretty happy to see these bands make the list: Gossip, DJ Shadow, Pendulum DJ set and ATB. There is going to be a lot to see and hear down there, and I personally can't wait. By the way, it doesn't hurt that I'm in cold and rainy Ohio right now. This fest can't get here fast enough. ...

I was really counting on Nero and Feed Me also. But oh well.
Hey on another note of interest, Four Tet is playing an aftershow that fri at a small place called Bardot. I can never handle the afterparties, but that's pretty awesome.

Why can't you handle the after parties? My wife and I are considering going to at least one. Is there something we should know about as far as the crowd, etc?

No the afterparties are great. It's just that I'm usually so exhausted from going to ultra 12pm -11pm that by the time I get out I'm ready to crash. Attending Ultra alone I still find myself having trouble waking up in time to get there early the next day. I missed !!! last year because of this. The afterparties go on all night til 5 am, and typically the 'headliners' won't play til maybe around 3 am.
Somehow I manage it at Bonnaroo, but I can't seem to keep up the steam for latenights with ultra

Thanks laggy. We are thinking of hitting one after party for the experience. I have a feeling - coming from the climate in Ohio - I may end up being beat down at the end of each day, but I wanna give it a try.

Wow. That is freaking stunning. Rooms 1-3 look amazing. I don't know a lot of the artists in the other two. Sadly for me, I won't be pulling into Miami till Friday.

Room 4 is the one I'm least excited about, but it's the "Trouble and Bass" room. Trouble and Bass is a really popular Bass party in NYC that's held regularly, with resident DJs drop the lime and AC Slater. Drop the Lime used to do some really insane breakcore that I used to love, but his current stuff is so different I'm surprised he goes by the same name.
So Ultra drops the sickest electronic lineup possible yet people complain about some mainstream acts?!? With incredible talents flying in from all over the globe, i am thankful i am only paying $375.
Check out ultraweek.blogspot.com/ for list of parties happening that week. So much going on and there is definitely something for everybody. I am going to Gareth Emery 3/23, Paul van Dyk 3/24, Markus Schulz 3/25. Good luck.

I don't know what kind of EDM you're into, but I would highly suggest Future Sound of Breaks for an afterparty It's at Mekka, which is a massive club with 5 rooms, and the WMC parties there are always epic. And the lineup is really impressive
