Probably true. Although I'm pretty sure there is one or more higher up that approves the clues. DJJD got in trouble for having too many easy clues the first two years and then mentioned his final year that they were being screened.

I think that's kinda stupid because last years clues were small bands. I think Beirut??? was the biggest one of our clues.
They should make them a little easier, but not too easy.

Augh, I don't know - having other people who are authorized to update the site is something that's been somewhat on the table for years now and that I keep going back and forth on. I think it's less necessary than it was now that we have our subforum and people who are willing and able to take on some of the work can do so by running one or more of the individual clue threads.
And I have no idea how we/I would choose these authorized people even if I could get a multiple-editor sort of thing put together! I've had various people in mind at various times, but the big players in this game change a lot from year to year so some of the people who once seemed like shoo-ins are no longer involved at all.
I guess ideally what I'd want is a system where these authorized editors could add a clue or a hint post/tweet, but guesses would be handled a little more by popular consensus. Like, a Digg-style system where ANYONE could give each guess a thumbs-up or thumbs-down and the site would display the most popular guesses and you could click to expand and see all of the guesses with their "scores" if you wanted. And maybe even some sort of system that could use popular consensus to determine when to mark a clue solved. Because those are the things that pose the most difficulty for me - updating the site with all the tweets and stuff can be time-consuming, but that's practically just clerical work. Making the judgment calls about what things should be listed as guesses and when to consider a clue solved is the hard part.
But...while I might have SOME vague chance of figuring out how to have other authorized editors who can add clues/hints/tweets, I don't have the foggiest idea of how to set up that kind of thumbs up / thumbs down score system. So, uh, if anybody out there DOES, PM me and teach me! Or...give me some sense of what would be involved so we can figure out if it's feasible!
Fuck that I'm turning every clue into Neil Young and MMJ superjam.
I'm with you Plasticpepper. I kind of prefer that you are the only one running your site. When the stuff gets too clustered here it is nice that there is someplace I can go and see what is actually happening with the clues. Maybe just a comments section under each of clues? Also maybe one other person to help with the site to keep it up to date when stuff gets really crazy?
i thought we were supposed to guess elton john to every clue? and......my idea of "coming soon" means that i can just refresh every 30 seconds and it will appear
ok seriously...thanks for everyone who is working on this....lets get those clues
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
I would have been perfectly content having no clues at this point of the game if Gary didn't post saying they'd be here "soon," a word he/they displayed very little understanding of.

Gary has been desribed as the love child of Jay-Z, Michael Mcdonald, Arcade Fire, Paula Abdul (Pre-1989) and Daft Punk
After months of (painful) negotiating, Gary agreed to be the spokesperson for the Bonnaroo Music Festival.
Don't you guys think it's strange that the description mentions 2 headliners of previous Roo's? And a 3rd that we all are waiting for? This description is from 2010, I don't know if above was there already in 2010, but if it has changed it might mean something..
