Canton bound?
That's usually a reference to the pro football (NFL) hall of fame.
benutecht.com/ ? First thing that came up in a quick search. No idea on his style of music.
"Ben Utecht, who won a Super Bowl ring with the Indianapolis Colts and retired from the NFL in 2009 after suffering numerous concussions in the NFL plus two in college, is lead male vocalist on Jim Brickman's current national holiday tour."
Takes care of Canton-bound, and sabbath references.
edit #2... Ha! just listened to his music and you can scratch this idea. LoL
So, ascension linked to versions of the sabbath? Ascension of Jesus is 40 days after Easter, and it's always on a Thursday. Are we looking for a Thursday act maybe?

Maybe the Bonnaroo promoters got mad at him for giving too many hints/making the clue too easy. He tweeted about that, so I assume he's re-working the clues to give us more of a challenge (as if they're not challenging enough)
Gary said "More #rooclue clues" as in more clues in the morning about the clue we were working on to solve, but we had solved it before the next day. Hence the reason no more clues. Make sense?
