Almost all of my regrets stem from missing bands I either didn't know of at the time, or didn't care for at that time. You'll see the regrets grow bigger each year I go back, as there's more and more music i didn't know about or wasn't into yet the further I go back (and before 2008 I had such a narrow scope and admittedly shitty taste)
2010
-Leaving the Black Keys early to catch come of Flaming Lips and get a good spot for LCD.
2009
-Missing the Mars Volta to rest up for NIN -Missing Passion pit- for exploring (had no idea who they were) -Missing Cage the Elephant -Missing Phish Fri
I had a 2008 lineup poster in my room but had to take it down because it fills me with regret. I didn't know any of these bands at the time, and probably wouldn't have appreciated them yet. Bonnaroo 2008 and 2009 had very strong life changing effects on my music taste, and evolved them pretty far

2011 --Sleeping through buffalo springfield because "I wanted to be 100% for Eminem and Gogol" Gogol was worth it, Eminem was not. --Took some pizza toppings a little too early Friday, didn't peak during Primus like I planned. NOFX was awesome though. --Passing out from tiredness during lil wayne --Picking The Strokes over Robert Plant (Facepalm!) --Spending practically all day Sunday at our compound waiting for Robert Plant to come for a photo shoot so he could sign my uncle's album that was already signed by jimmy page. He ended up coming an hour late, and was so guarded by security I couldnt even get close. --Taking the greyhound. --Not going to SCI --Not riding the ferris wheel.
2010 --Not riding the ferris wheel. --Sleeping through black keys, and not sticking around for Flaming Lips --Completely skipping Mumford --Passing out from tiredness missing Dave Matthews Band entirely (although some could argue this isnt a regret) --Not seeing LCD. --Not going to the inforoo brunch

I regret sitting at a picnic table waiting on Maynard instead of seeing Pretty Lights. I also regret sleeping instead of seeing more shows on Thursday night. Not talking to more people. Not making it to brunch.
Thursday - Having driven through Wednesday night I went back to camp and passed out after Band of Skulls...there was a lot I wanted to see after dark.
Friday - I went to Grace Potter instead of Matt & Kim. - I let my friend talk me into leaving after an hour of MMJ to see Primus. Damn him. - I went back to camp while Shpongle, Ratatat and Pretty Lights were just starting.
Saturday - I waited in the pit line for Eminem during Buffalo Springfield.
Sunday - I was so damn exhuasted that I just napped all day until The Strokes came on, missing everything except the Galactic I could hear while napping in the shade tent at the back of the What field.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Missing Black Keys to get right up front for Flaming Lips.. Should have left after their first set. Dark Side was not as good as I thought it was going to be.
Getting FUBAR after Jay Z and missing Gwar, Mau5, ect.
2011:
Missing Dr. John and the surprise Portugal the Man set.
Doing too many pizza toppings and freaking out during Primus and having to go back to the tent to chill out (missing all of Primus, the begining of Arcade Fire, and not being able to get anywhere near Bassnectar).

making it to the past 9 roos but not becoming an inforoo member until 2010 and then not meeting up with any of the other members until all good last summer
SO very glad i did meet up with the infogood though
I started going at when I was 18 in 2008, I really don't regret missing 2002-2007, I only would have appreciated it in retrospect.
Yep same here. I probably would have been miserable had I gone much earlier than 2008. I mean obviously I wish I was at some of the shows like Neil in 2003, but then again I was 13.

Really? The 2005/2006/2007 lineups don't do anything for you? I know you guys are a couple of cynical hipster dickbags, but I would have figured that stuff like Radiohead/Elvis Costello/Beck/Death Cab/Bright Eyes/Common/Sonic Youth/Cat Power/Gomez/Atmosphere/Malkmus/Blackalicious/the Streets/etc. in 2006 would have been right up your alleys.
Haha I'm a cynacal hipster dickbag? Out of the bands you mentioned the only ones I would have really liked to see are Beck, Costello, and Sonic Youth. I'm in the same boat as Nod in that now when I see those lineups I would love to go but then I wouldn't have. I really only started going to shows regularly in 08 and didn't become obsessed with live music until Roo 08. I don't think my 16-17 year old mind would have been ready for the whole experience of Roo.

06 I missed Robert Randolph and Gogol in 06 07 Missed Keller Williams in because I met a Fun Guy 08 I feel I made pretty good decisions all year including the Chali2na Galactic set However a lot of people would say skipping the last half of MMJ for the Superjam was regrettable 09 I missed half of Al Green because of securing for a storm that never appeared. 10 I could have started closer at LCD but left and came back, but I was on the rail by the 2nd song. 11 I wish I had gone to EITS instead of the Superjam.
2008 Breaking my ankle during Metallica. I missed a considerable amount of shows I wanted to see because I had to take it easy. Not planning to see MMJ, I would have probably still missed them, but I didn't know much about them, and because of that, didn't plan on seeing them at all. Not knowing who Sigur Ros was. This is probably the most painful regret of 2008, but redemption will be mine in 2012, by god! Leaving Sunday morning. In retrospect, I don't think my ankle could have gotten much worse, had I stayed and hobbled around on it.
2009 Um, not going in 2009! When the lineup was released, and I saw Phish (twice), Bruce Springsteen, and the Beastie Boys, I was underwhelmed to say the least. There was still loads of music to enjoy, and I shoulda went anyways.
2010 Having to leave the National mid set, I was on the verge of heatstroke I should have skipped KoL and gotten a good spot for the Flaming Lips. I should have stayed put for Jay Z, but my feet were killing me.
2011 This was a good year, I made all the proper scarafices to see what I most wanted to, which included: skipping Primus so that I could have a good spot for both MMJ and Arcade Fire skipping the Black Keys and Eminem so that I could see all of Mumford and Sons, have an awesome spot for Buffalo Springfield, and have enough energy for Dr John. Regrets include the following: Leaving the Black Angels to go see Bassnectar Not staying up for Pretty Lights Not surviving long enough for STS9 Skipping Ray Lamontangue for I forget who Missing Florence + Machine and Iron & Wine because of the heat and dust.
Some of these were retroactive as some of the bands I did not know about or cared much for at the time.
2007 -Only seeing the Stanton Moore Trio show on Thursday because I was so exhausted -Deciding to wander around after James Blood Ulmer and missing Tortoise. -Only seeing the Superjam on Friday and missing DJ Shadow
2008 -To be honest, no regrets at all this year.
2009 -Not having enough energy after People Under The Stairs to see Delta Spirit. Still haven't seen the band to this day. -Not getting up early enough on Sunday to see Cage the Elephant. Though Dillinger Escape Plan was a good wake-up show.
2010 -Being way too tired on Thursday and exerting all my energy to go from The Dodos to Blitzen Trapper and sleeping through a third of the show, when I could have been awake for all of Mayer Hawthorne and the County.
2011 -Not taking care of myself much and being tired and sick by Sunday and only seeing Bruce Hornsby and Superjam
