The Durham's supplement was my first thought. "Queen's Delight" is there top seller. It's a combination of Bee Pollen, Propolis, and Royal Jelly. Royal Jelly is what makes Queen bees Queen bees - they are given more royal jelly while they are larva.
Royal Jelly:
-Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) sings "Royal Jelly" poking fun at Bob Dylan in Walk Hard
- Lovecraft has a song called "Royal Jelly", as does a group called King Bee
- There is a band called Royal Jelly.
Also, first thought of Zappa's "She Don't Use Jelly", which was covred by the Ben Folds Five.... one can dream.

I find it interesting that the first part of the clue may elude to a poor monk who carries around all his possessions in a burlap sack and is content with it, and the second half of the clue refers to a monarchy.
