i've been attempting these clues for years but still can't understand how people arrive at some of their theories and answers. i looked at gary's tweets and see nowhere where he is hinting towards anything on this clue. i guess i just wish that whoever starts this thread would update it with whatever information, theories or hints we have towards the answer. maybe i'm just an organizational freak.
It is dull, Son of Adam, to drink without eating, said the Queen presently. What would you like best to eat?
Turkish Delight, please, your Majesty, said Edmund.
The Queen let another drop fall from her bottle on to the snow, and instantly there appeared a round box, tied with green silk ribbon, which, when opened, turned out to contain several pounds of the best Turkish Delight. Each piece was sweet and light to the very centre and Edmund had never tasted anything more delicious. He was quite warm now, and very comfortable.
While he was eating the Queen kept asking him questions. At first Edmund tried to remember that it is rude to speak with ones mouth full, but soon he forgot about this and thought only of trying to shovel down as much Turkish Delight as he could, and the more he ate the more he wanted to eat, and he never asked himself why the Queen should be so inquisitive.
...
At last the Turkish Delight was all finished and Edmund was looking very hard at the empty box and wishing that she would ask him whether he would like some more. Probably the Queen knew quite well what he was thinking; for she knew, though Edmund did not, that this was enchanted Turkish Delight and that anyone who had once tasted it would want more and more of it, and would even, if they were allowed, go on eating it till they killed themselves. But she did not offer him any more.
...
Because, if you did come again - bringing them with you of course - Id be able to give you some more Turkish Delight. I cant do it now, the magic will only work once. In my own house it would be another matter.

Savor the queen's delight. I can't imagine it being anything else
The Sad Sack was a movie starring Jerry Lewis. Lewis' character mistakes "Moroccan Delights" for malted milk, and gets drunk. The inventor of malted milk, James Horlick, was made a baronet awarded by the British Crown. This could mean the band, Baroness, is the answer. Or, if you look at some of the other famous baronets you see Sir Edward Elgar, who of course wrote "Nimrod" as part of his Enigma Variations. "Nimrod" is also an album by Green Day.
cloth sack state of mind = nomadic, like a rolling stone savor the queens delight = savor because those dudes are ancient and who knows when they're touring again and queens delight because they're english.

i dont want to say its phish, and i dont know if they would give us a clue about a band insider confirmed but prince caspian is a book in the chronicles of narnia, where the queens delight is from and a famous phish song
Trained: a cloth sack state of mind. Savor the queen's delight
I think that "a cloth sack state of mind" refers to those reusable lunchbags or grocery bags. I think that the word "green" ties into the answer.
If "mind" wasn't also in the clue I would wonder if it had something to do with Dinosaur Jr's via their album "Green Mind."
Edit: If "the queen's delight" has something to do with Turkish delight, maybe it has something to do with turkey. When you savor turkey you're full. Also sleepy but I understand sleep has been ruled out as having anything to do with this clue.
Just thinking out loud here...
Edited Again: Not only are you full, you're stuffed.
Something to do with green stuff?
When you learn to play baseball (when you're "trained") you learn with a tee.
This would only fit part of the clue (It may fit more but I haven't done the research yet), but in October there was talk of a Queen Reunion in 2012. I didn't hear too much about it. This would be a bit linear but...

Ahaha, I love you all for the Flaming Lips guess.
Anyway, I kinda like the idea of the second half referring to Turkish Delight. But if it DOES, then basically the entire second half boils down to "turkey" or "Turkish." Like, to me it wouldn't make sense if Turkish Delight as a whole was related because he wouldn't have handed us "delight" in that case. Which means that second half just yields turkey/Turkish without anything left over to connect it to anything else, unless maybe "savor" is still significant. I have no idea if I'm adequately communicating my thoughts here, haha.
Burlap was what came to mind immediately for "cloth sack" for me too. Either that or a potato sack. But I keep trying to combine words like "burlap outlook" and "potato mood" and I'm not getting anywhere, lol.

Uh, somebody else needs to post while I'm typing this because I'll feel bad if I end up with three in a row. (Edit: Well, damn.)
But I'm now thinking hessian (burlap) could be a possible lead, because that combined with STATE of mind could lead us to the German state of Hesse, which is after all where Hessians are from.
Can we get anywhere with "trained: Hesse?" Or anything like that?
Edit again: Okay, I may be getting way too far from the clue here, but does anyone think the first half could be referring to the Headless Horseman? He was apparently "the ghost of a Hessian trooper, whose head had been carried away by a cannonball, in some nameless battle during the Revolutionary War." So he was TRAINED as a Hessian soldier (Hessian = cloth sack). And you could probably even make a case for some sort of state of mind / headless connection, like a little joke of sorts.

Clue made me think of The Shins because of the word "sack" (the song "Fighting in a Sack") and "queen" (the lyric in "New Slang": "queen of the eyesores"), but I don't have any way to rationally tie it to this clue.

Potato sack was the first thing that came to mind for me too. Found a link with turkey, KUMPIR, is a baked potato like turkish street food. Cant find any connection, but saying it out made me think we're trying to compare something with trained and/or state of mind.
Reasoning - cloth sack state of mind: on the Cake album Prolonging the Magic (sounds a lot like hitting the snooze button) there is a song called "When You Sleep"
Savor the Queen's Delight: The Queen of Hearts loved tarts - pastries - CAKE.
Ron (tremendousbutton) totally came up with Cake, I just followed through with the necessary research.

I'm not trying to start rumors or get obnoxious about this guess but I really would love to tie this to my all time favorite band and would love to hear if you guys think my theories are not right....
But could the Queen's Delight refer to Their Satanic Majesties Request?? Since Gary said it didn't have anything to do with the plant...
I would actually have a heart attack if the Stones went to Roo..but I just think they're too big for a music festival......Altamont 2.0??? It might happen if they headline...but I'd be there

if i stretched the queens delight to mean the U.S. being allies of England and stretch "cloth sack state of mind" to them being known for setting their guitar and bass up with only the necessary strings....
