Here's some thoughts I had: For the vowel part, you could argue that people come of age at 21. U is the 21st letter of the alphabet. For "Push in the IV" I was thinking it was going to be something obvious like the number 4.
4U- "For You"
According to Wikipedia, the following bands have albums entitled "For You"
For You (Casey Donovan album) For You (Philipp Kirkorov album) For You (Prince album) For You (Jo Stafford album) For You (2011 Jo Stafford album) For You (EP), by Luv' For You, by Jack Russell For You, by L.T.D. Gold Vol. 1, alternately titled For You, by Celine Dion
For Songs:
"For You" (Bruce Springsteen song) "For You" (The Calling song) "For You" (Electronic song) "For You" (Ricky Nelson song), written in 1933 by Joe Burke and Al Dubin; covered by several artists "For You" (Split Enz song) "For You" (Staind song) "For You"/"Time Limit", by Utada Hikaru "For You", by Azu "For You", by Barenaked Ladies from Everything to Everyone "For You", by Coldplay from Parachutes "For You", by Fall of Envy "For You", by H.I.M. from Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666 "For You", by James Otto from Sunset Man "For You", by John Denver from Higher Ground "For You", by Journey from Time3 "For You", by Kenny Lattimore from Kenny Lattimore "For You", by Killswitch Engage from As Daylight Dies "For You", by Michael W. Smith from Go West Young Man "For You", by My Dying Bride from Like Gods of the Sun "For You", by The Outfield from Diamond Days "For You", by Six by Seven from The Things We Make "For You", by Travis Tritt from No More Looking over My Shoulder
The most likely of these: Prince (which would be awesome), Bruce Springsteen and maybe a few others. Seems possible...

Jay-Z and Beyonce sure have been "pushing the (Blue)Ivy" lately, with their bundle of joy. He also has two songs with Memphis Bleek called "Coming of Age" pt 1 and 2. Also reaching a bit more here, but the letter Z follows all vowels. Just throne it out there

For the record I hope I'm wrong. My official guess will be back to My Morning Jacket for every clue here on out. Leaving the clue business to the smart folks out there .

The Cure is something you'd push in the IV. Following the vowels you get "AEIOU and sometimes Y," by Ebn Ozn, which was somewhat of a New Wave music standard. The Cure I think can be considered representative of New Wave.

I'm thinking Beyonce/Jay-Z?
They just had their kid, Blue Ivy Carter. And when everyone asked about the name, they said Ivy didn't mean the plant, it meant the roman numeral number, four. As in, IV. Push the IV meaning put the sounds of the WORD together... as Ivy. "Coming of age" would absolutely relate to the idea of a child as well. The only thing throwing me for a loop are the vowels.

Sorry dude I didn't see you at all. Glad we're on the same page here though.

I agree with this. Reports say that they got the name "Ivy" comes from "IV" which came from Beyoncé's album "4".
Why do I think this is Adele, who has a bunch of vowels in her name, some of her albums refer to age. Who knows?
Adele's already said she's not doing festivals. "Rule number four: Adele won't play Glastonbury or another festival. 'I will not do festivals. The thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me. I don't think the music would work either. It's all too slow.'"

Sorry bud :/
Wait... "Push the IV" ... "Rule number four" ... Maybe "Push the IV" means to push "rule number four" out of the picture?

What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
Push in the IV. Follow the vowels to the coming of age. IV- four=o, u Oklahoma University "Follow" the vowels- Followill coming of age- an ascent? Do I smell KOL?????????
I don't think it is Kings of Leon since they just played in 2010, but I wanted to point out that 'coming of age' could be in reference to the lyrics to the song "My Party" which repeatedly mention 'coming of age'.
