I just realized that Hopscotch will be just over the 20 year mark, the last time I saw JAMC. Lollapalooza 1992, Walnut Creek Amphitheater, Raleigh, NC.

When I told my +1 I was going to Hopscotch, she laughed and said "Keep dreaming!" You guys need to guilt her into letting me go. Either way, I don't see her as likely but you never know.
I'm excited to finally get to see The Jesus and Mary Chain in nola on September 5th. We're driving up to Nashville the night before for Dead Can Dance at the Ryman. Definitely not gonna feel like going back to work on the 6th.
One of the best shows that I have ever seen at The Music Box in Mobile was The Spits w/ NoBunny two years ago. That is easily in the top 3 of the best punk shows that I have ever seen in my life.
Also, I'd love to go to this, but it's a 12hour+ drive and sept 6-8th is thursday through saturday. I'd have to burn three vacation days and there's no way I could afford the trip due to Lolla the month before and DeLuna this same month.

Dave, wasn't Abra just listening to Death Grips on Spotify yesterday? That's what it said on Facebook. Death Grips are on the lineup for a certain music festival in Raleigh this September...just sayin'.

It was actually me that was listening to them. I forget to change logins all the time when I listen to Spotify. I downloaded some of the videos for the newest album through an offer on the internets and was watching them. She said that she actually liked them which came as a huge shock to me. Just didn't seem like her thing. As far as Hopscotch goes, I think we may work it out so that I go to Hopscotch and then she goes to Counterpoint (depending on the line-up).
I was about to say that it might be best for Abra and Mrs. GL not to come. Between all the people planning to stay at karosko's, the musical nerdness may overwhelm them.

Not to get totally off topic but I agree, for me anyways. There isn't anything that I don't want Mrs GL to do that I do.
That said, she doesn't love everything I do. Sun O))) would put her to sleep. No Bunny would freak her out. About the only thing that calls her name is The Roots and thats not worth the money to her.
This is gonna be a total sausage fest.

The only festival I've attended without my significant other was Hopscotch last year. She's pretty accommodating, but I would have been pushing my luck with stuff like Swans, Earth, and The Body. She's sitting this year out, too, which is good because there's no way in hell I'm talking her into Sunn, much less Kevin Drumm, Mark Mcguire, Koen Holtkamp, Oren Ambrachi, Chris Corsano....

I'll be happy to show anyone and everyone around Raleigh. I think the fest is great logistically. Some brutal scheduling conflicts last year, but hard not to have fun. Think a mini-mini-SXSW.
1) Yo La Tengo 2) The Jesus and Mary Chain 3) Sunn 0))) 4) Nobunny 5) Escort 6) Lambchop 7) Wye Oak 8) Dan Deacon 9) Liars 10) Built To Spill 11) Zola Jesus 12) The Mountain Goats
Raleigh is seriously a cool town. Hopin' to know what my livin' situation will be like in another week, and thus I should know if I'll be back in town and able to afford it.
