Yeah, most of the venues are within 3-4 blocks of each other. The bigger shows (like Yo La Tengo and Mountain Goats) tend to reach capacity and be tough to get into, but there are usually only a few of those. You should be fine to get there 30 minutes before the show in almost all cases.
Also, you guys need to check out that Matthew E. White shit that Hopscotch posted to their website. Fantastic. From Fight the Big Bull (from your neck of the woods, GL).

White is kinda an anomaly around here. They don't ever play (Fight The Big Bull) and is talked about in very hushed tones.
I'm gonna try to make that show not because I know the music but out of everyone I know, I can't count one person that has ever seen a performance of any kind.
I know that he has had collaborations with both Bon Iver and Sharon Van Etten but that is all I know about the guy.
Now the No BS! Brass Band on the other hand!
I'm assuming this will be part of the 40 members that he will have in his backing band.

Most clubs didn't hit capacity last year. They have more big names this year, but they also added more venues, so hopefully that balances out. Just show up early if it's something you can't live without seeing. If you get shut out, though, there's usually 3-4 other things going on anyway. So many conflicts, but that's inevitable with a set up like this.
1. Sunn O))) 2. JAMC 3. Liars 4. Built to Spill 5. Lambchop 6. Kevin Drumm 7. Screaming Females 8. Chris Forsyth + Koen Holtkamp 9. Death Grips 10. Thee Oh Sees

I love the fact that the crowd sang that the same way Tim Kinsella does.
They added The Men last year. That alone says something.
I got my bus ticket Friday. Needless to say .. This IS ON. EDIT: Greyhound has been running a $20 advance ticket to everywhere I've been going as of late. $20 is way cheaper than I can drive for. Great deal. Especially if you get an express bus and not a local.

Burglar Fucker - Lightning Bolt if they grew up on Flat Duo Jets. That is to say, noise-rock with a heavy rockabilly influence. Their EP was one of my favorite releases of 2011. burglarfucker.bandcamp.com/
The Bronzed Chorus - Post-rock for fans of bands like Explosions In The Sky and Maserati. thebronzedchorus.bandcamp.com/
MAKE - MAKE stand at the intersection of post-metal and doom metal. They are one of my absolute favorite NC bands and swell guys. thebandmake.bandcamp.com/
Nests - Another one of my favorite newer bands out of North Carolina, Nests play haunting, expansive folk. digguptapes.com/nests
Naked Gods - Just great, solid indie rock. They played my college station's benefit concert this past year and were excellent and full of infectious energy. www.nakedgods.com/press
They are announcing some artist cancellations and additions tomorrow. I'm guessing Death Grips will be one of the cancellations. Really hope I'm wrong.
