Here come the Mummies at least makes a little sense, they have a song called Hurricanes, floods, and fire. They also have a song called The Eye of Horus, which is an Egyptian symbol of protection that comes from the goddess Wadjet. Wadjet is listed as the patron protector of lower Egypt (northern Egypt). Goshen (in lower Egypt) is where it is rumored that Moses was born. When Moses was born, he was placed in a papyrus basket and placed in the Nile to be saved. The name Wadjet is derived from the Egyptian name for the Papyrus region of Egypt (wadj). When Moses asked God for his name, he responded Ehyeh asher ehyeh, which means I am that I am.
riders on the storm put on an awesome show when i saw them in 08... don't know how it would hold up now though, who knows they good bring out skrillex... that hurt just typing that

I like the Here Come the Mummies logic, but it almost seems too easy to be the answer. Maybe we have sucked so bad with the other clues that Gary tossed us a softball.
"I Am That I Am" is a song by Peter Tosh (dead) from the album Equal Rights. Tosh has been covered by The Kills, the Mountain Goats, Cypress Hill and Sublime. Not sure where to go with that from there though.
Bon Iver released his album this year the same week as the reissue of Equal Rights as well, for what it's worth.

I like it Bon I(of the storm)ver, makes sense too. Now for a performing cadaver connection.
Edit: Bit of a stretch by the music video for Monster, which features Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, apparently is filled with dead bodies.
Keep thinking its band of skulls I am what I am reminds me of I know what I am Cadaver can clearly refer to skull And as for storm they opened for the dead weather in London
I wasn't really paying attention to his logic but one of my roommates suggested Black Star as a possible answer. I think we're owed a Black Star show after being lied to last year

Ya, I came across Talib... He has a song called NY Weather Report that has a lyrics "It's the 3rd eye of the storm". I think 3rd eye could relate to the "I am that I am"/God thing as well somehow.
Is it just me or does it seem like Gary is throwing a lot of religious themed clues?

hmmm.....Alot of bands just dont fit.
Rob Zombie could be a possibility but the Eye of the Storm just doesnt fit.
My guess would be Marylin Manson though....
I am that I am of course fits Manson as the self proclaimed Antichrist
A living corpse could both refer to his first stage name ofc originating from Marylin Monroe.
and though some people take "look to the eye of the storm" as meaning the calm of the storm, I think it means the "center" which could refer to the center of controversy, and no one fits that more then Manson.
On top of that he has a new album coming out, which will be talked about all over from his fans down to the conservative blogs.

Gaga fits very well.
"artist name/title/whatever you're going to call him/her" >her name is a title. It's odd to say title in that hint unless the name is also a title. She also has a male alter-ego.
I am that I am= I don't know, there's a million things that could work for this. She makes no apologies for being her ostentacious self (sometimes the answers to the clues are more obvious than we'd like to believe.) She has a song called Born This Way. She feels she is also the God of modern pop music. She has stated that Born This Way is the soundtrack for "this" (unclear which...) generation.
Eye of the storm: this doesn have to mean storm. It could be something around which everything else revolves=Fame monster.
