Sabbath!! I was going to do a bunch of the actual tour until it fell apart. Looks like I'm doing Lolla this summer too! woooooooooooooooot.
I used is a part of priceline apparently. $225 for the Chinatown hotel and there is no deposit required, and you can cancel until 24 hours before check in with no fees.
Thanks for the heads up on this hotel. Never been to Chicago before, not worried about staying in a super nice spot, cheap is better I'll spend the difference on cabs and late nights.
So Black Sabbath is confirmed by the band (kinda).
And I can't believe no one mentioned them in this thread! ;D
1) All we know for sure is Sharon said they would be playing one show in the US in August and that the promoters of the gig wouldn't let her discuss the details. It certainly narrows down the likely options.
2) If you would come back to the Lolla board, you could discuss this and so much more!

I really need to come back. I'll be in Chicago the week after Lolla so I have a reason

I would be so excited for Sabath at Lolla. I was hoping for them at Roo, but I think Lolla will be much better. I can't wait to board the Red Line after they headline and hear the whole subway singing Crazy Train!

Those Lolla crowds sure love to sing. I love how even though the city puts noise ordinances into effect at 10, the singing probably doesn't stop until midnight.

Laggy since booking.com doesnt require a deposit and as far as i know doesnt have a cancelation fee till closer to checkin why dont you book a room just in case. When I got mine there were only a handful left!
Gambit- Use booking.com a one bed room is $225 and a two bed is $240....a suite is $270. They are getting kinda low on rooms I think there's like 13 or so left at those prices at least.

ehhh.. I know maybe I should. But that feels like a commitment lol Once I book that hotel it's going to feel like "OK, I'm going!"
I'm still very undecided. It's going to take a lineup on par with 2011, 2008, or the fake one to get me there. I'd say there's like a 20% chance I'll actually go. My girlfriend is pushing really really hard for me to go to HARDfest LA that weekend, and offering to hook me up with free flight and accommodations, so I'm kind of tempted to go with that.

Ok, so I work EMS for all events at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, and tonight The Black Keys were playing with the Arctic Monkeys. While I was watching the Arctic Monkeys sound check from the tunnel, Patrick Carney(Black Keys drummer) came up and was watching them/ checking out the venue too. I told him I was a big fan and that they killed it at 'Roo last year. I also mentioned it was cool that they were headlining Coachella. As the conversation was ending, he told me that they were going to be playing Lolla too and that I should come see them there. I quickly said good-bye and went about hiding my music fan-boy erection.
