Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I voted to keep it as quak and what not. Even in the short period of time that I have been here I'm use to seeing it, and find it extremely humorous at times.
Filter is fun for most words, illegitimate children notwithstanding. I'm not sure why that one's censored...that's just bollocks if you ask me! But then again, without the censor, I wouldn't have my new favorite word: Ticketwanker.
why does it matter? except that a couple of times in real-life conversation I have inadvertently slipped in the "roo-filter" word instead of the real curse word and people have looked at me with that "WTF are you talking about" expression.
Come to think of it, I get that look a lot, so never mind

I just wanted to make another point that I've been thinking about. Inforoo gets a lot of respect from official Bonnaroo "people", the media, etc. While the profanity filter is by no means why Inforoo continues to get the respect that it does, it is a small piece of the puzzle. I think Inforoo gains/maintains quite a bit of integrity by not allowing cursing and replacing the possible curse words with silly/funny alternatives. I know a lot of people, myself included, have foul (or fowl lol) mouths. While it might not makes sense to someone who doesn't read the boards often to see "quack that" for instance, it's a lot less offensive than seeing "f*** that". Someone might choose to stay and be a part of this amazing board because they didn't see blatant cursing from their first visit.

I agree that Penis and Vagina should not be filtered, on the same note I would be upset if Fuck was changed. I find myself saying quack at work. and quack holds special meaning to me.
I don't think it would be accurate to say your online persona is built off of justified, or the muppets. So why would you say that? Unless you're trolling?
Question: is there a way for everyone to have their own option for this? Like how you can turn karma and sigs on/off?
I'm not trying to be snarky, but couldn't you just type it however you wanted to? I mean if it gets switched to asterisks, you can still type "quack" and "smurf", and if it stays the same you can go with f*** or f*ck or whatever.
I guess this relates more to the entire point of the thread.
