Rick was tweeting during Orion. Evidently they felt a little strange playing that festival.
I don't blame him! There were definitely two types of people at that festival though, they people there to see the bands like Hot Snakes, Modest Mouse, Titus Andronicus, etc. and those that were there just to see Avenged Sevenfold and other bands like that. I was talking to this one guy at Titus Andronicus (whose crowd was very small since they were playing at the same time as A7X, also Hot Snakes had a very small crowd since they were up against Cage the Elephant) and he said that during Modest Mouse people near him were booing and yelling for them to get off the stage. I was also talking to this one girl who was saying she doesn't like Cage the Elephant and Modest Mouse and bands like that because they all sound like Coldplay and sound the same, but like Hellyeah, Hinder and Papa Roach
Also, A Place to Bury Strangers played on the same stage as A7X, but six hours before them and a lot of people just had no idea what was going on or what kind of music they even played
Overall though, I got to see Wooden Shjips, Roky Erickson, Fucked Up, The Gaslight Anthem, Hot Snakes, Modest Mouse, Arctic Monkeys, A Place to Bury Strangers, Ghost, Gary Clark Jr., Torche, Volbeat, Eric Church, Titus Andronicus, and of course Metallica both nights. I also got a set list from Hot Snakes and got my picture with Patrick from Titus Andronicus (for the second time ) and Damian from Fucked Up, who is probably one of the nicest people ever
