Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm so excited to go this year! A friend of mine has gone 4 times, this year will be the 5th- and as soon as he showed me the amazingness that is BONNAROO, it was a done deal.. ;D
I've been searching through all these forums, and i've read all the survival guides, and tips, and hints- which, by the way, all you guys are freaking FANtastic for posting all that stuff- and I'm hoping that i don't have a heart attack from excitement before it even gets here! haha.
My friend says I got the fever. Lol, Everyday I'm checking on here, and the actual website just looking for updates and lineup releases.. I can't believe I didn't know this even existed until about a month ago..
Any other advice would be appreciated!
I'll see you all on June 7th- and I absolutely CAN NOT waitttt!!!! ;D
Last year was our first Roo as well. We had been wanting to go for years but either having kids, finances or something kept us from going. We plan on being there every year now. I only wish we had started when we were a bit younger as it's not so easy in your late 30's as it would have been 10 yrs ago.
As for advice, just keep tooling the site and checking various threads, you'll learn pretty much everything you need to know from the experts around here.
Psst... maemae... the correct answer is "Who?" or "Kill it with fire!"
Edit: Advice 1) If you have a question, always check for a thread on the topic before starting a new one. This one is fine btw. Advice 2) People on here are much nicer than they appear.
and its funny you say that maynar, because I have seen somme mean stuff on here, but overall- everybody's just happy and excited for the next Roo. I can almost feel the electricity from my computer, ya know? hahahah.
That's probably what gets me so excited is seeing how everybody else has reacted, which is obviously VERY positive, so it makes me believe that if this many people enjoy something THIS much- it HASSS to be effing phenomenal.
I think my biggest lesson I learned at my first Roo was how immediately overwhelmed I was on the first day. I knew it was a huge event going into it, but I never could fully grasp that until my feet were on the grounds. I remember walking into Centeroo the first time thinking "Oh no, this was a mistake." But by the time the sun went down and the heat went away I felt much better. This was 2006, and I'll be returning for my 4th Roo this year.
So my advice is prepare to feel overwhelmed at first. Take it easy, don't overdo it, and enjoy yourself.

Welcome aboard. And if you've read all the survival guides and tips you should be on your way to having a fantastic, memorable 'roo experience. All six of mine have been that way - and I have this board to credit for preparing me.
Thanks Jacko. Thats what a few people have told me.. the biggest thing is to pace yourself. it's 4 days long. I guarentee i will be overwhelmed though.. if not by the heat, then definitely by the 10's of thousands of people.
And I hope not! I'll be so p*ssed if i over do it on thursday! lol I think i'll be able to handle it.. I might have never been out of my area(Allegheny, crawford, and Erie counties) but I think I've been through enough to sort of understand what i'm getting myself into.
honestly- my biggest fear is the sun. I'm so light skinned, and a redhead to boot- so if anything you'll see me in a kiddy pool filled with sunscreen. ;D
well- I'm starting off in PA with 2 of my good guy friends that have been to 'roo for the past 4 years.. But we're meeting up with a few people in different states(people they've met/known from old roos) so- yaa.. I guess I am I mean I don't know any of them yet, but i'm sure we'll be friends!

im sure you are going to be fine.
but man, no matter what you expect it to be - it will be bigger and badder.
how have you never left the area in 22 years? never just wanted to see what, say, NJ had to offer? NYC?
PS: OP is shorthand for "original poster" or something like that - means the person who started the thread.
