well- I can't say NEVER I guess.. I went to Florida once when I was 2(brilliant idea on my parents part seeing as how I can't even remember, haha) and I went to Niagara Falls like 10 years ago..
It DEFINITELY isn't because I dont want to see anything or go anywhere.. I want to go see everything!! But I had a rocky start coming out of high school, and my parents weren't "set" when I was little, so I never really had the chance to do anything I guess..
But now.. Now I have myself established, for lack of a better word, and I can now begin my adventures. Starting with Roo ;D and then who knows after that. I'm hoping to actually be moved out of the state within the next 2 years.

Welcome! If this is your first time to Roo, and your first time to Tennessee, please read up on preparing for the heat and avoiding dehydration. I promise, you'll appreciate it!

Did you ever work at a place called the Village, Tyler?

Thanks! I appreciate it
But I have definitely done my homework.. haha, i've read all the forums, and survival guides, and equipment lists.. They truly are a big help!! If i didn't know about this website, i would've been going into this whole thing completely blind.
I remember seeing the videos of people's tents and stuff getting blown allll around like- what? 2 years ago? maybe 3? I can't remember.. but ya- good idea

Too true. Do I have some personal information on here that I am unaware of or something?
No, you just led a former co-worker and high school classmate to come here.
Ahhh. I'm guessing you will back at the farm this year. I'm trying to get my trip set up but I was absolutely spoiled by VIP last year and can't imagine going any other way now. Hit me up and lets make sure we meet up.

Definitely. It's funny you log on. I was talking about you the other day. The first year I went was the first year you ditched GA camping because you had had enough of that and were ready for the RV experience. After three years of GA camping, I have also had enough of that and am going for the GA experience.

I'm guessing you meant "RV experience". The only thing I have yet to do is RV in VIP. Honestly, I don't know if I will do that. The comfort of the RV experience I certainly missed but I'm afraid I would have missed out on the amazing times that I spent getting to know my neighbors. We had a sick group all around us last year in VIP (from all over North and South America), and when I went RV I didn't spend half the time with neighbors as this past year. That being said, I have only myself to blame; instead of getting to know people I spent a lot of time in the RV soaking up the sweet sweet AC.
I would love to use an RV, but like you guys pointed out, I would be so tempted to just stay in it all day.. I'd that's one thing everybody talks about, it's the HEAT.

For me, one of the top benefits of VIP is the AC tents in centeroo. They definitely allowed me to cool off without having to sacrifice shows (though I have to admit falling asleep in there more than once).
Last year missed a lot of good shows in favor of the new AC sports bar. Including MMJ and F+TM, both of which were on my top 5 list going in. Really hard temptation to fight(didn't help that the Bruins were on either).
Welcome to the board. You will find the most helpful people on the planet here. Make sure to read through the older posts as well as the new ones. Start writing a list of items you will need to bring with you. And most important, pace yourself when there. Take plenty of pictures.
To be honest this will be our sixth time attending and I think they get better as they go along. The first is overwhelming and when you get back home you will be like, Oh I missed that and I should have seen that... So read a lot and make a list on what you want to see and do. Don't hang out in the campground, get to Centeroo, drink lots of water, find some shade and see everything that there is to see.
And I hope not! I'll be so p*ssed if i over do it on thursday! lol I think i'll be able to handle it.. I might have never been out of my area(Allegheny, crawford, and Erie counties) but I think I've been through enough to sort of understand what i'm getting myself into.
honestly- my biggest fear is the sun. I'm so light skinned, and a redhead to boot- so if anything you'll see me in a kiddy pool filled with sunscreen. ;D
From one redhead to another sunscreen!!! You might also want to try the spray on one that has the cooling in it. A big hat, sunscreen and as everyone else has said, pace yourself.

Tents make that magical journey every year. There is always atleast one gust of wind to uproot an ez up. Tried to catch a neighbors in 09 and tripped over someones support line for a tent. Face planting in dust hurts.
Just dont forget an EZUP to go over your tent and a tarp on the side the sun rises. Please god do not forget this. It will make or break your weekend.
I'm with Phi on this one. The morning sun is the least pleasant thing about the whole weekend. When you're setting up camp, give some thought as to how your tent is oriented to the east.
Also, as I say in every thread like this one, bring Gold Bond.
