Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The guy that filled in for Bob is Paul Defiglia and he's a permanent part of the group now, same with Mike Marsh the drummer. The gal on violin is Tania Elizabeth but she only pops up here and there. She doesn't travel or tour with them. She's got her own stuff going on and I think it's one of those things that if they are in the same area, she'll come and play with them.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be debuting a new backdrop at our June 15th performance at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival! This work of art, The Bridge, is by Kymia Nawabi and can be seen below.
Kymia and Scott Avett met while attending the school of art at East Carolina University. Their commitment to create work, both visual and musical, was solidified there and continues today. Clear parallels can be drawn between Kymia's work and the songs that The Avett Brothers write and perform.
Ok. Please don't laugh at me, but if you do, it's cool, too.
I had no idea who the Avett brothers were. The few times I had downloaded their music before roo, trying to prepare, I guess I downloaded slow songs only. I was not interested AT ALL. But then when I saw them live, HOLY SHIT THEY BLEW MY MIND! I was not expecting that. This dude was playing like 3 instruments at one time. They rocked it so hard. Probably the most surprising act for me and third on my list of overall best performances that I caught.
Now I'm going to have to go back and download all their music. I was just SOOOOO impressed.

If anyone laughs at you they need to be dickpunched. One of the greatest thing about Bonnaroo is discovering new artists. If someone says they have heard everyone on the lineup, they are lying.

A bit extreme but I agree with the premise. Godzilla!

I am huge Avetts fan and its because of the reason you mentioned. Their albums are fantastic and then in concert they step it up and BRING IT!! They write beautiful music and still have the energy of garage rock band. They never have the same set list, every time I have seen them live they play a few songs I have never heard in person.
When downloading their music make sure you get a hold of the Emotionalism, Four Thieves Gone and Mignonette albums. Really just get them all like you said. But put on Emotionalism sit back and enjoy.
The best part of being a huge Avett fan are the live shows because they have such a deep catalogue you know that every show is different. I know someone that just saw their 100th show last month and other people that are inching towards that and even they still get new ones. And there's always the elusive beautiful rare ones that turn up when you least expect it. Sharing our song spreadsheets is always fun in the Avett community!
I'm only on my 11th show but I look forward to a lifetime of seeing these guys. I seriously never get tired of their music.
So good, so so good. This was my third time seeing them and I never regret it. I was taking pictures of the sunset and saw a couple slow dancing to the music, so I grabbed a couple of shots of them. One of my favorite moments of this Roo.
From what I heard the fiddle player Tania is permanent at least for the rest of this tour. The drummer Mike Marsh replaced Jacob Edwards in December of 2011 and the organ/bass player is Paul Defiglia who replaced Bob when he was out with his daughter for that year. I think they keep him around in case Bob needs to be with his daughter or if she relapses. And of course Joe Kwon but he's been with them for a long time now.
But yeah, when they are all there, there's 7 of them on stage now. So crazy to think how it just used to be Scott, Seth and Bob. I do miss the brothers running back there on drums sometimes!
I've seem them a bunch of times before. So I knew going in how good they are.
But add in the main stage, plus day four emotions, plus really awesome companions?
Everything about it was perfect. And the "I and love and you" tears were just what I needed.
Remain one of my must sees whenever possible.
Last summer I saw them on the opening day of my local music festival called Summerfest. Every year on the first day they have a huge fireworks display and I have no clue how the avetts managed to do what they did with it, but it was amazing. Scott took this huge dramatic pause for the finale of the fireworks with his hand up in the air and once the fireworks were done he finished with the final "I and Love and You" of the song. It was magical. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. I've seen them a bunch of times too, but that is still my favorite Avett moment. Until I go see them at Red Rocks this year!

So, since I had no clue who these guys were at Bonnaroo but they rocked my little face off to the point I went out and bought a banjo and started taking lessons, it was a no brainer to buy tickets when my buddy said they were coming to southaven mississippi. Tickets went on sale today. I'll be there in sept. And I'm so excited I have no clue what to do with myself. Mostly, I'm hoping this will make bonnaroo right.

Saw them for the first time at Bonnaroo, too. And, we have tickets to see them again in Asheville 11/1. Great show!

Always a great live show. I haven't seen a bad set yet.
Glad to hear that! I know it won't be the same as bonnaroo as the sun was going down on sunday, but music wise... I'm sure they will rock it! I.CANT.WAIT! lol
Did you guys see they've played D Bag Rag three times lately? It had previously only been played once so it's been super exciting for the long-term fans and one of those songs that we all thought we'd never hear.
Missed out on their set due to females in my group had to put on makeup... I'm so doing Roo differently next year lol
I love their live albums, of course it's not the same as seeing them live; however, the energy from their songs still travels to your soul =)
Dude, i feel bad for you. At least you know that you;re doing Roo different next year. DON'T LET ANYONE INFLUENCE WHO YOU WANT TO SEE. Especially cause they were putting on makeup on Sunday for the 2nd to last show of Bonnaroo. They were great and I'm not even a big fan of them.

Ya lesson learned the hard way. Still, not angry since I saw my top 5 and most of my top 10. However, I'm taking your advice to heart
