Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I haven't read it yet. But, I normally put them on every single college community bulletin board I can find. Then I state in my written proofs, how many I put in each building on campus. Are they now going to require more specifics than that?
Required proof will include:
- 25 photos, representative of the posters hung
- 1 written text, containing a list of ALL 100 locations and/or areas postered
Please poster in permanent locations. Please do NOT hang on lamp posts, mailboxes, trash cans, cars, random doors (classroom doors, bathroom doors, etc.), elevators, friend's doors/refrigerators, bathroom walls, drink machines, etc. We want these posters to have a long life, and not be put in places where they will immediately be taken down or only seen by a few people.
Sorry, but I am not going to state the exact location (bulletin board on 3rd floor of Massey Hall near room 310) of every single poster I put up. If they reject stating the quantity and number in each campus building location, I've probably done my last poster run.
2013~Bonnaroo, Gentlemen of the Road-Troy 2014~McDowell Mountain, Beale Street, Bonnaroo, Riot Fest 2015~Coachella 1, Bonnaroo 2016~Summer Camp, Bonnaroo, Live on the Green, Pilgrimage 2017~Bonnaroo, Live on the Green, Pilgrimage 2018~Bonnaroo

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Yeah, thats what I did. I'd say "photos #1-6 are in "Building A," and so on.
I just don't want to type out 100 locations for 2 poster runs. I thought I was finished writing essays when I graduated college
I had always used like 5-10 posters per order on car windshields (usually on the second run on Record Store Day where cars would be parked fer hours) but they got on me fer havin' one photo per each of my two poster runs this time around. Luckily I usually take some extra photos just in case. But seriously 100? Like 100 different locations? In previous years especially if it was a concert venue with a 'Roo band playin' I would put up three photos as proofs. I dunno. Overall I can't complain much as the street team has helped me afford the festival fer the last few years, but if this is the future of poster runs it may have been my last.
Not that I would do this (I have my points for this year's ticket) but what's to keep people from just typing out a list of 100 locations in the specified area? How are they going to monitor that if they only require 25 pictures? I don't know...to me making someone list out 100 locations in the text is ridiculous especially if they have no way of checking if they did hang all 100. I don't think they thought this through, and I'm glad I already have the points I need.
Well I feel like a goody two shoes because I've been hanging 85-90 posters every time I do a run. It also makes sense why some people finish their runs in an afternoon and I wind up spending a couple of days. I guess I just figured that since the poster run was worth about 150 bucks it would take me a while.
I usually hang most of mine. I either put them all up on college campus or I'll hop the train to a hipster neighborhood filled with coffee shops, record stores, and small restaurants. I can usually get at least 20 up. Then I hop the train to a new neighborhood, and it only takes maybe 2 hours max. I drive all over for work so I'll put them up in any potbelly's, Jamba Juice, or jimmy johns I pass because they all are usually cool with hanging up posters. So when I send the order in I haven't put all of them up but i leave them in my car and I'll still hang them. I hate to waste the posters but I have never hung them all.
How is this any different from before? Haven't they always required a list of where you hung them? I'm going for a poster fun again, but with my surgery I'm hoping they'll give me a little extension to get everything up. I'm not sure how mobile I'll be by the deadline... Fingers crossed I even get one though...

Yeah I've definitely hung up posters after the deadline too. Do what I gotta do to meet that deadline.

Incidentally, and I've got a couple emails out to Bonnaroo, Tickets Today, and the like, but I've been wondering: Does anyone here have any experience with getting the Street Team ticket and being able to camp in Groop? I know a buddy of mine won free tickets a couple years ago, and had to work with them to make it work out, but this is a slightly different situation. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes but now they're asking you to provide a list of all 100 locations which some of us do not hang all 100 posters.

I'm not sure exactly how much help I can be, but I know that you can be in Groop with ST tickets. I do think you have to let them know ahead of time though. bacon might be able to help here.

In theory you have to let them know ahead of time, because like they say you are supposed to have your ticket before you buy your groop slot. But they rarely, if ever, check. I just sent them a list of people with street team tickets and other special situations since we have more than normal in our groop.

Just picked up a Poster run in blacksburg, VA. It shouldn't be too hard to get all 100 posters up as there are tons of building on the virginia tech campus.

lol being as how I got the other Blacksburg run, putting up 200 total might be a stretch....
in 2013 it was pretty tight, i was worried they wouldnt even come in time.
last year i got it much sooner, but i also ordered it much sooner. best bet is to get your order in as soon as they open up for ordering i imagine.
I got a local friend who will buy both tickets from me. Do you think it'll be perfectly fine for two other people to go in my place? They can just register the wristbands in their names, I hope?

Yeah the wristbands aren't registered under your name, regardless that they're from the street team. As soon as your friends get them they can register themselves. Presumin' of course you don't register the wristband(s) yourself.
After doing some social media assignments tonight, I'll have about 4,200 points saved up. Are you only able to see rewards that are close to your point range? I'm guessing that passes to festivals require an extremely high amount of points? Do you absolutely have to do poster runs to be able to save up enough points for passes or is it possible to do it by doing the various social media orders throughout the year?

If you stay on it all year long, you should be able to save up enough social media points for at least one ticket, not sure about two.
They go up in the store at a specific time, which is TBA... they usually announce stuff like that in the forums on the site or in a private message.
Gotcha, thanks for the info. Is it the same with the other shows where they only give out a set amount of passes before they are 'sold out'?

I got my first ticket with all social media orders. I did a majority of those since December. I think I had like 4k points, if that before all the Roo clue orders. It takes 16k points for one ticket. I got two poster runs this time around too so now I have enough points for 2 tickets. Woooo!
But yea. Keep up on it year round and it's so much easier to get enough pints in time to get a ticket from that alone. But it can be done even if you don't. I do t think I did an order from like march to nov/dec last year.

if you do the social media stuff year-round you'll have plenty for a free ticket. gonna have to do a run to get 2 of them. I'm not sure about getting 4k more in time for roo but id say its do-able. 3800/300pts (FB/Twitter/Instagram)=12.6 orders. We've had a lot this month and with the new festivals they are promoting you can probably get enough before roo w/ just social media stuff.
the tickets wont sell out, if you have the points you'll be able to snag one for Roo.
