I'm going to be doing my first poster run soon, for Sloss Fest. Can some vets give me some tips? What do you use to hang the posters (tape? staple gun? used gum?) I already figure I'll hit up some bars, restaurants, and the local college student commons. What other kinds of places do you recommend? And are people ever jerks about hanging posters in their establishments?
I use a staple gun for the occasional telephone pole, thumbtacks for places with bulletin boards, and double-sided tape for windows. Cafes usually have bulletin boards as well as laundromats and sometimes comic book stores. And head shops, if your town has them. Also I know at the college I live by, there are some academic buildings that have one or two bulletin boards on every floor. Of course, some of them are supposed to be strictly for academic notices, but the people at Fancorps don't know that.

I've never had anyone get put off 'bout it. Worse come to worse i would just put on up in their bathroom stall.
So... are we going to get a 2nd poster run? It sure seems like points are hard to come by this year. I can't believe we didn't get an order for some of the recent announcements. Stingy AF with the points this year...
I got one for the Bob Moses addition, Forecastle stuff, Bonnayou and etc. It's seemed pretty standard to me.
Last year I earned 4,785 in March and 8,371 in April (granted, I won that Roo Tip contest in April for 5,000) and this year I did every order in both months and got 1,570 in March and 1,000 so far in April. That's a HUGE drop-off

How did you end up with 71 points? Every order I've ever done was by the 100.

I know I've done one order fer 50 points and it's annoyin' 'cause the Fancorps website just rounds the points up unless you really look at it.

It only shows "activity points" so it counts whatever those random ones are for signing on and shit

Anyone remember when the last day to use your points for a bonnaroo ticket was? I remember I ordered one on like April 25th but I'm not sure when the latest you can order is
Any word yet on how much Bonnaroo tickets are going to be? *fingers crossed it stays the same*
Everythin' we've been told so far suggests street team tickets will still be 16000 points per ticket this year. But you will have to purchase the GA car campin' ticket separately through the Bonnaroo store.
Hey y'all, if any of you have the points to spare, QSAROO would gratefully take any wristband donations. Same goes for wristbands at reduced prices. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Are they strict on what you write for the written proof part for the handbills?
I'm not sure if what I wrote was good enough. I mentioned the date I did it, the entrance and the area I handed them out, and the time I did it.
I posted my 5 pics also.
Seems too easy like I'm forgetting something.
That sounds about right to me!
I finished my first poster run Saturday (for Sloss). I have determined that I don't enjoy poster runs. ETA: But I did have fun doing handbilling, especially at Roo!

So I guess that was all I needed. I handbilled two days of Jazz Fest. I'm handbilling the MMJ concert Thursday and that will put me just enough over for my two wristbands. I'm excited.
If they haven't announced a 2nd poster run for Bonnaroo by now, what are the chances they'll still offer one?
Just got this email.
Hi Team, Bonnaroo Poster Run #2 will become available THIS Saturday, April 30 at approximately 12 noon EST. Head over to the Bonnaroo forum for more details!
Just FYI: Tickets were up in the shop from 4/23 to 5/8 last year.
Surely they will give people time to do the 2nd poster run.
Last 3 years i think the tickets have gone up before the 2nd roo poster run deadline, but they were available for plenty of time for you to cash in on the 2nd run and get your tickets.
Even if you order early, they are probably shipping them all out at the same time anyway, and I've never seen them run out of stock.
got the last of my needed points today, so officially have enough for a wristband. woohoo.
Yippee!! It's such a good feeling, isn't it? I have almost 26k points now so my ticket is taken care of, I'm just furiously trying to figure out how to get 6k more for my sister's ticket. Hopefully I will snag a poster run Saturday

Good luck!
I was worried I wouldn't get enough points, as there were no posters runs for my city or college this year and hand billing is never an option.

Just fyi, I asked about it today, and there was always going to be a second poster run. It just got held up by waiting on announcements, getting them from the printer, etc. Also, specifics on tickets aren't available yet, but I was assured that anyone doing the second poster run will have sufficient time to get them done before they stop taking orders for wristbands. They recognize that they are getting put up later than last year. They are getting held up by the second poster run and other duties that they are tasked with that have a higher priority/closer deadline.
