I've heard a trio of line up rumors from what seems credible. It seems they will be sticking with some "alternative" bands rather than jammy or "typical" festival style bands. One of which has been in heavy rotation in the festivals for the past 2 years, the other of which no one would expect, but it's fucking awesome. The third isn't really alternative and is downright disappointing to me. They're a country band that has played a few fests in 11 and 12 I think.
The source is one who works for the festival organizers attorney. Supposedly said person has seen the contracts with their own eyes.

That's pretty exciting news... about it being better than last year and all. Last year was extremely disappointing when the lineup dropped. Saw like 4 bands outta the nearly 80 they had that I wanted to see (papa grows funk, toubab, stringdusters and someone else i cant remember.)
I heard a rumor that the Zach Brown Band is playing this year... that kind of ties into: "They're a country band that has played a few fests in 11 and 12 I think." b/c they played Hangout in 2010. Not excited about that one though... not bad live, but not my cup of tea.
The third one is a legacy act, but not so old that they aren't still making records and touring regularly. But I would consider them legacy cause they've been loved world wide since their beginning. I say again... It's an "alternative band"
Well remember, these are purely rumors, and im not a primary resource. The person who told me is extremely confident though. Pearl Jam supposedly said they wanted to reach out to the gulf coast but logistically it didnt work 2 summers ago or whatever so this is the make up for not making it.
Hopefully Zac Brown Band is playing Sunday so I can dip up out of that biatch early and get some sleep before work monday...haha
They would most definitely sell the crap outta those tickets. I just hope they get some other solid acts also. I got Monday off but still might dip out early on ZBB...
Yeah, I have heard PJ/FF from a couple of people. The ZBB booking makes perfect sense as well because a lot of locals complained last year at the lack of country music at the fest.

Yeah I could definitely see that happening, Pensacola folk love them some Cuntry. Kind of sucks that Deluna is just getting Hangout's leftovers, I'm hopin' for some sweet additions though.
Minus the exception of Pearl Jam... I should have been specific. Hangout1 = ZBB. Hangout2 = Foo Fighters. It would be understandable, however hangout and deluna are only like 45 minutes to an hour away from each other... (if you weren't aware of that already)
Any of you p'cola duders mind if caddyshaq and I crash at your place on the friday and saturday night of this fest. Floor space for an air mattress would be all we need, but if we could take a shower that'd be swell. We could throw ya some cash/beers/etc your way. It's totally understandable if ya don't want strangers stayin' witcha, we'll split a cheap motel if that's the case. I'm just trying to plan ahead because I know Lolla is gonna break the bank on my ass if I end up going.

This is true, but Pearl Jam is bigger than any band that had yet played Hangout, so there's that. I really enjoyed Hangout last year, but I knew last year would be its last great year crowd-wise. I'm hoping DeLuna will be more like Hangout1.
Deluna cannot be like Hangout1 crowdwise. Military discount group sausage-rates will ensure that. Hangout 1 was a stars alligned type of thing....oil spill, hippie bands, no rothbury etc.
Pearl Jam is nit bigger than Paul Simon. You and I might like PJ more than Pearl Jam, but Paul Simon is a HUGE name, that was a really big deal for a lot of people.
Hangout shoulda got PJ, but whatever. I'll at least be able to get in the water for them at Deluna!! AJ from Huka is a huge DMB fan and it was his #1 goal as a promoter to get his favorite band at his festival. Mission accomplished, it really is a big deal (not for me). Next year Hangout is gonna have an amazing lineup.

Plus, crowds that size do not make a festival sustainable, especially when you've got to pay bands the size of Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters.
They were giving away tickets to Navy peeps for the first Hangout, because ticket sales were horrible. The oil spill was the main factor there though. People didn't want to go to the beach and worry about tarballs.
The first DelunaFest was awesome. They did a really great job with the actual festival, except for the DelunaBucks bs (thankfully they dumped that). I actually preferred the two main stages being side by side, because then I didn't have to trudge back in forth through the sand.
Hangout 2 just had an amazing lineup and that's what caused it to sellout. And I think everyone will agree it was an amazing fest.
The Deluna people took notice and tried/hoped to emulate the 2nd Hangout's success. They priced their tickets similarly to the Hangout. They also mimicked the Hangout layout for the main stages. Unfortunately, they didn't provide a lineup that would entice people to travel to Pensacola. You could tell, by how far the two main stages were spread out, that they had expected Deluna to be bigger than it was. And it really didn't help that their Sunday headliner backed out the week before the festival.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read "Pearl Jam is bigger than any Hangout" artist. No way PJ is bigger than Simon. He is the man, and he has a way longer crowd following, therefore ultimately bigger. I have big hopes for Hangout next year also, cause this year disappointed the crap outta me.
I'd have to talk it over w/ my lady, but I don't think it would be a problem hosting a couple peeps at our place for Deluna. We live round the Cordova Mall area (if you are familiar w/ where that is) and we will all probably meet at Wanee anyways to get the "formal" introductions outta the way ;D
I *think* Pearl Jam is bigger because I dont think Simon is selling out arena tours. I do realize that Simons legacy is one of the greatest ever, and also think that his show at hangout was one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life.
I could be totally blinded by my bias toward PJ, cause they're the greatest band of all time (in my brain, anyway)
