DMB does seem highly unlikely due to possible proximity clauses, but it's not like hangout could lose anything from allowing it to happen since it's been sold out for so long. I just hope that doesn't mean Foo Fighters fell through.

I think I'd take DMB over FF though, never been a big fan of either, but I've heard really good things about DMB's performance. I'm really hoping for some good bluegrass and NOLA acts added...
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of either. Foo Fighters were awesome at Hangout last year though...that's the only time I've seen them. Never seen DMB, but maybe this years Hangout will change my opinion of their music. I'm really hoping that Tenacious D gets added.
Longinus- People travel really far for festivals, not as easy to do that if you have class on Friday and Monday. Summer Tour/festi circuit is just that, a summer thing that college kids with money can follow around all summer. There'll be a lot of regional ppl but I don't foresee people travelling nationally to be there. People are coming to Hangout from all 50 states and a couple of other countries this year.
No way DMB is playing DeLuna, total nans. I would love nothing more than for them to get DMB and Hangout to get Pearl Jam though.
This isn't a huge festival like Roo, Coachella, Lolla, etc. If they get Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and decent undercards, this poop will easily sell out in less than a month. There is no doubt in my mind about that. Some people will travel for this and take vacation on friday and monday, but I don't even think they are much of an issue. 50k people form the gulf coast would want to do this if folks are not willing to travel.
I think the DMB rumor is false, too. Makes DeLuna look like Hangout's copy cat. I mean you already booked Foo Fighters and ZBB,both previous Hangout headliners.
Yeah, I would take the DMB rumor with a grain of salt. The same radio station (TK101) was rumored to have said Guns & Roses were going to headline Hangout. I'm not sure if there's some guy actually saying this stuff on air, or if it's just some internet troll starting false rumors. I guess I could believe either at this point, but do not believe DMB will be there.
Foos should be a lock from the start. Brandt is their freaking tour manager and he's in charge of booking this thing. They love the area, loved playing Hangout last year and I am sure would jump at the chance to do it again on Pensacola Beach.
I'm so glad I got a $100 ticket and don't have to worry about that. Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters justify my purchase already, but I am going to lose my shit if they got Tenacious D.

That would be awesome to see Tenacious D! I wouldn't even know what to expect on that one... I'm sure they won't sell out instantly, over a period of time maybe, but I can't see it happening within 2 weeks though. Hopefully...
I read someone's reasons why they think PJ is a false rumor, and I gotta say they make some good points. Firstly being the fact tht on the PJ forum the mods didn't post a "tweet from a little bird" which is how they drop hints for upcoming tours, shows, etc. they always do that. I didn't even think about that.
However, I can't imagine 2 whole years without any sort of US tour. I guess we'll find out in 12 hours
Oh yeah, and if they some how some way get Cornell there, I'll die.
Tenacious D at roo 10 was pretty awesome.
I don't really get what DaLuna is going for though. It seems like a pretty specific genre of music that alottes for a majority of the line ups.
I kind of dig what I have read about Gus doing this year. He is really just trying to reach out to several different genre's. He's a professional, unlike the previous booking agents for this fest, so I have faith in him from what I know about him.

Well shit, I thought you knew for sure. A US Pearl Jam tour is not out of the questions from early August to late October though. Maybe they're just doing a great job keeping it quiet for now.
Pearl Jam & Bad Brains is all I'm excited for really.
WTF is DJ Jazzy Jeff doing so high on the lineup? I didn't even know he was still around.
Guided By Voices and Ben Folds are cool, but are not acts I would go see if they weren't playing a festival I was at. Anders Osborne should be way higher on the list.
Dwight Yoakam'd.
I'll probably be doing at least 1 day of this festival as I won't be able to get Furthur Red Rocks tix bc I'll be at Wanee.

GBV is a fun band to see live. It's pretty much all ego.
Pearl Jam alone is worth those early bird tickets. Color me impressed.

What a strange lineup. Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, GBV, Bad Brains, Superchunk, Ben Folds Five, Fishbone, and Joy Formidable are all solid gets, though. I'll keep this in mind if it hasn't sold out by September, but I can't justify tickets right now when I'm pretty certain I'll like the Moog and Hopscotch lineups better. Probably can't afford 3 fall festivals this year.
This lineup definitely skews older than last year's, but that's probably a smart move. One of the things that I believe has made Hangout successful, and that should allow it to continue to be successful, is its appeal to a slightly older crowd with disposable income. Professionals who don't want to sleep in a tent for 3+ days, and who can afford to make a full vacation out of it with condos and overloaded VIP passes. This lineup looks like its targeting that group.
I'm happy w/ what I'm seeing. Esp seeing that there's more to be announced. Like you said ProbDog, definitely pitching towards an older crowd. I also see that being a good thing though. They have a lot of solid acts and some really good underdogs. They got some prime NOLA acts also and glad to see they got some D'phunk, can't ever have enough of the dumpsta'... It's definitely not your "run of the mill" festival anymore at this point and that's what I'm most excited about. I will definitely be supporting this.
Booked a room at that cheap days inn we always stay at for emerald coast beer fest for friday and satuday night. Speaking of which...anybody on here go to that? It's like a weekend or two before this normally.
The rate for all those hotels on the beach during this are over $300 a night...fuck that. I imagine there will be shows at vinyl music hall or somewhere else downtown after the festival is over with friday and saturday night that we can hit up.
I can dig it. Glad I got a leap day ticket, because this lineup is awesome already for $79!
It'd be nice to see a lil EDM and live hip hop thrown in there...the only glaring holes in a very diverse lineup.
DJ Jazzy Jeff is an interesting choice that I am kinda stoked to see. I know some people who saw him with DJ AM at HoB in NOLA a few years back and raved about the show. It may sound like a cheesy booking on paper, but the potential is there that he could be pretty good.
I think I'm most excited about Bad Brains right now...That's one band I never thought I would ever get around to seeing.
Pearl Jam is easily the biggest booking by Deluna yet. Glad to see the rumors are legit!

Absolutely, and hopefully the World of Beers will be open by then also right down the road from the Vinyl, they are supposed to have shows there also. I'm sure Vinyl will have something that weekend though.
Not sure if you ever hang out at the beach, but there is a strip of bars a little ways down from the Deluna site and they will have shows all weekend as well. I have some good friends that play down there at the Islander or the Break almost every weekend and last year a couple folks from Dirty Dozen sat in with them. So I'm sure there will be a bunch of different things to get into between downtown P'cola and P'cola Beach.
VIP tix are sold out already Dude at my plant tried to get some for him and his wife when they went on sale and couldn't get them. He's so mad! Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and Band of Horses are his favorite bands. lol
