Pearl Jam, Ben Folds Five, Guided By Voices, Superchunk, Corin Tucker.....I'd say one of the major demographics is people who went through their formative music listening years in the mid-'90s. They're covering a lot of bases, though. Dwight Yoakam and Zac Brown Band (if that turns out to be legit) bring in a totally different crowd, and Florence/Gaslight/City and Colour/Joy Formidable should grab plenty of kids. Really well done lineup.
Ok, guise...I despise most country music, but I will admit that I quackin' love Dwight Yoakam. That dude is awesome...he's an excellent actor too. I think the majority of rednecks are more into new country and bullhonkey radio rock anyway these days. There's no way a slew of rednecks are gonna pour in for Dwight Yoakam and Zac Brown Band for $200+ when they can go to quacking Bayfest or that bullhonkey festival in Gulfport for less than half of that for a higher percentage of crap that they like. amirite?

That's a lot of quacking bullhonkey there....
I was thinking the same...So relieved the country acts aren't Sugarland and Rascall Flatts or other pop-cuntry bullhonkey that always gets booked around here. This will keep people from complaining about there being no country and it will also minimalize the amount of dumb rednecks in the crowd.

I just ordered 2 ga tickets... None of the logistics are planned yet, but it looks like accommodations are sparse. Is anyone heading down that might want to split a condo?? I'm just traveling with the GF. Shoot me a PM if interested.

Hi everyone, to throw in more questions... are we POSTIVIE both ZBB and Blink182 are coming? any other smaller rumors we should know about? any chance PJ & FF get 2.5-3hrs of playtime
I don't think Blink 182 will be there. ZBB is a pretty solid rumor though. I seriously doubt any of the headliners will play 3 hours...more like 2, or 2.25-2.5 if we're lucky.

Hey, we're heading down from Pittsburgh. Not sure yet about wanting to spend a night out on the beach or not. We have family to stay with in P-cola but still thinking it may be nice to have a place to crash. Did you find anything reasonably priced?

I had some friends go last year and they really enjoyed it. Compared to the previous years' lineups, I really like this bill, so I might make the trip down to Florida in September.

I am hearing rumors that they will be adding Zac brown Band, Fitz (as I said earlier, and 2-3 more mid-high level acts, like Ben Folds, Florence. I hear one is a big DJ. If anyone is looking, the Days Inn on the beach is a cheap hotel that doesn't suck, and they still have a few rooms left.

^I keep trying to get a room at the Days Inn for the 21st and it says booked full. I've tried every hotel (the ones at least less than 200 a night) and they are all saying nothing available.
?Am I doing sumpin' wrong here? I guess I'll just call them tomorrow...

Thanks for reminding me of the downtown options guys. "Affordable" is a good word for us. Luckily, we have family to stay with for most of the weekend but with the late-night activities, we've been leaning toward having closer crashing options.
Any idea when the remaining acts as well as schedule & play times will be released?? FF & PJ need 2.5 hours!!
We know that FF are playing either sat or sun and that PJ & Florence are playing either fri or sun based on midtown music festival's schedule. Depending on the artist additions & the possibility that nobody will split my room with me, I *might* sell my DeLuna weekend pass and cancel my hotel booking. I may end up just getting a day pass for saturday's midtown music festival and a day pass for which ever day PJ is playing DeLuna.
Consequence of Sound announced Sliversun Pickups with their coverage of the lineup announcement, but SSPU weren't included with DeLuna's official announcement. So they could be added. I've also heard Social Distortion, Fun., Gotye, M83, and Fitz and the Tantrums as possible additions.
Not sure if anyone noticed (I haven't seen it mentioned yet) Deluna Fest's website has an early rough of the fest map already up. Looks like they moved it back to the west this year and no longer attached to the condos. Looks like they will put the Casino Beach parking lot to more use this year instead of just blocking it all off for nothing like last year.
I hope I can get back in the water this year...... Blasted off in the Gulf during Willie Nelson the first year........that is up there in epic live music moments for me.
