Just wondering if anyone has had anything confiscated or stolen from them while entering the grounds?
Last year when we arrive early Thursday morning going through the check-in/vehicle search I'm pretty sure that the workers/checkers took a bag of about 30 5-Hour Energy's out of the back of our SUV.
It was 3am in the morning and we had been sitting in traffic since 9pm so I was a little out of hit and just happy to be in the promised land.
But i heard one person say "What is that?" and the other replied "5-Hour Energy". I didn't think anything of it, because I just figured they saw it, but they never said anything to me so I figured whatever. I even offered the guy putting on our wristbands and looking in the front about 5-8 of them for those around him.
The next morning when I got up I couldn't find the bag anywhere and I know I packed it because it wasn't at the house when I got back on Monday.
Just wondering if anyone else had an experience like this. There was no reason for them to take it, and even if there was, they should have let me know they were taking it.
maybe they thought you were intending to vend? that's not cool though.. especially if you offered them. now i'm all paranoid we got something taken we didn't notice!
Centeroo security nearly threw away a friend's diabetes meds one year. My mom and I got police searched last year and they almost didn't let her in with her meds that she had a script for, too. I offered, with utmost sincerity, to call my bro-in-law (a pharmacist) and have them describe the pills to him over the phone to verify what they were. Seriously.
Roo security hates pills.
Speaking of which, have Lord T and Eloise ever played Roo?
I have 800mg ibuprofens (big fat ones, strength of 4 advil) for my back I'll be taking with me in a bottle with the script on it -- the bottle also describes what the pills should look like -- do you think I'll have any trouble with those?
No. I can't believe people are getting their meds taken. As long as their in a bottle you should be fine. Anyone searching to the degree that they're taking the meds is going too far. 4yrs for us and no problems.
It was only these two times out of five years that I've ever seen anyone get hassled for medication. I have tons of meds of my own and never have any problems. I wouldn't worry, just telling a CRAZY story.
Last year, the entrance guy in VIP wasn't going to let me in with a BRAND NEW bottle of vitamin supplements that I'd just bought @ Whole Foods because it was glass. (It was all they had, so I said quack it & bought it anyway.)
Seriously, dude? Vitamins?
At least it distracted him from finding the bubbly. ;D

last year the sheriffs pulled my truck to the side for "extra searching" and when all they found was a little lunchbox full of special cookies they decided that they needed to take my lunchbox because it had "the odor". Needless to say I still have the lunchbox.
"well well, what are these?" "cookies." "they're what I think they are, right?" "chocolate chip?"

I had about 10 prescriptions with me last year (kidney transplant stuff) and they never said anything.
I think they are only hard on you about it if you have them in just baggies, which is usually how I carry my meds around.
But I wasn't going to risk getting them taken away, so I brought all of them in the correct bottles. They saw them and said nothing.
A little inconvienent to carry around, but whatever.
Last year my friends and I think they took a couple of Swishers away from us not a huge deal but was kind of funny when we got to camp and realized we had 3 less than when we started.
In 2009, my caravan was pulled through the secondary more thorough search. A member of our group was bi-polar and travelling with her psych meds which she needs to take daily, no ifs ands or buts about it. We debated the police for about 20 minutes before they finally submitted and allowed her in with them.
To make matters worse, her name is Taylor so the cops were convinced her meds were actually a male's prescription. Which wouldn't have been an issue except for the fact that her ID was buried comically deep in our trunk. All said and done however, we did finally make it through.

I've had a citronella candle took. Wild fire starter lady right hurr.
They sell these at the general store! This actually made me mad, because we bought one and had no issues with anyone going by our roadside camp all weekend, yet they took yours at the gate.

If you put up a big enough argunment without stepping over the line, they will ultimately give in because of the amount of traffic they have to cover. The later on Wednesday you arrive, the more likely they are to quick search you. That said, we are coming in on Tuesday to get in line early Wednesday so we will probably get strip searched ! Glad I don't partake any more.

i saw some girls have a large mirror taken. it was the kind you put on the back of a door. my friend brings meds in every time. they are prescription but....i dont see them taking prescription meds i always take in medications such as aspirin and stuff like that...never occurred to me they would take it
I had a couple beers confiscated in 2009... we brought some bottled beer along to drink in the Walmart parking lot and we were too drunk to remember they were in there on the way in. Other than that never had anything confiscated.

I've never really had a problem with getting things confiscated... or really even getting searched, even into Centeroo. A ziploc baggie in your underwear does wonders. Just saying.
My husband has a bad back that really acts up when on his feet a lot. He has 3 different level pain meds and he took all 3 and he didn't have any problems. I'm not even sure they checked the bag with the meds when we came onto the farm. When we went into centeroo he basically just stuck a few pills down in his cargo pocket and they never checked that close.
Jackie - I was cocky like that last time. 6th trip, 4th in VIP or guest, and we've never had even a mild search in guest or VIP. I'd always snuck in a few bottles, but never enough to quench my insatiable thirst for an ice cold bottle beer. I decided to push it last time, brought multiple cases of bottles, got the full search and lost them all. It was an awful sight watching security open and pour out all of that delicious beer (while we chugged as fast as we could).

Coming into day parking last year the guys almost took a bag of cookies we had in the back, he thought they were special but they werent, just a birthday gift from my boyfriends mom (: Going into centeroo my sister had her glow stick bracelets taken away, but they let her keep glow sticks on strings..and they let the rest of my group bring in the bracelets. That didn't make any sense.
Glass glowsticks: It's all fun & games until someone pokes their eye out!
I prefer my glass glowsticks to use radioactive isotopes rather than non toxic chemicals as well. They really do last longer that way, and can help keep you warm if it gets chilly.

last year some jerkstore first year security asshat superviser argued that my 2nd, plastic bottle of Vodka for bloody mary's was one too many for the 3 people in my car. I argued he didn't know the actual rules as clearly shown in the book. Of course, this was the year they ran out of books at multiple entry points as well. Wanted (desperately) to continue the discussion with his boss, but the vodka wasn't all i was bringing, so i lost that battle to win the war I was still seriously pissed, tho, plus had a giant useless bottle of ZingZang mixer :/
